Lloyd Marcus at American Thinker

Folks, I believe human beings are responsible for their behavior.  However, as America’s first black president, fair or unfair, Obama’s presidency comes with enormous responsibility in terms of its influence on black youths.  This is why it is so unfortunate that American black youths’ ultimate role model is a characterless, race-baiting political hack.

While I am not saying president Obama is responsible for the epidemic of black youth flash-mob attacks on whites around our country, his race-baiting has to be a contributing factor.  (Read more)

Lloyd really makes several valid points in this blog.  The only point he didn’t really touch on is the one I’ve mentioned here before and that Maxine (we’ll socialize your oil companies) Waters brought up in Michigan this week: lack of employment for minorities.

The fact that nothing has been done to curb the unemployment rate among Black males, especially young Black males, has had to have had a profound effect on that community. When people are working, young people especially, they have a lot less time to engage in mischief and crime.

I find it really telling too, that when these flash mob videos are shown on television or written about in the media, there is virtually NO mention that these are black kids overrunning and clearing the shelves in stores like 7-11.  It’s as though the media is afraid to admit the obvious – like the emperor has no clothes.

On the one hand the Black community has been totally disaffected by the left’s do-good, nannyism that has destroyed their families for the last 50 years, while at the same time they are marginalized by the highest rate of unemployment and empowered by the first Black president to do whatever they choose to in the name of pay-back for misrepresented racism.

The leadership and example that these children need is not coming from their president – the first place it should be coming from. But it could be coming from the Lloyd Marcus’, Allen Wests, Thomas Sowells of the world, if only these kids would pay attention to the message.

The former brain dead liberal speaks but to only a conservative audience

It’s interesting that if you look up David Mamet at Wikipedia, there is no mention of his new book The Secret Knowledge on the Dismantling of American Culture. There’s no mention of his 2008 op-ed piece in the Village Voice where he ‘comes out’ as a former “brain dead liberal” and says:

I’d observed that lust, greed, envy, sloth, and their pals are giving the world a good run for its money, but that nonetheless, people in general seem to get from day to day; and that we in the United States get from day to day under rather wonderful and privileged circumstances—that we are not and never have been the villains that some of the world and some of our citizens make us out to be, but that we are a confection of normal (greedy, lustful, duplicitous, corrupt, inspired—in short, human) individuals living under a spectacularly effective compact called the Constitution, and lucky to get it.

It’s interesting and telling that the liberal Wikipedia, as well as other liberal outlets, is trying to ignore Mamet’s conservative epiphany. I hope that conservative media jump on this opportunity to showcase another David Horowitz or Andrew Breitbart conservative convert.

Mamet’s a practicing Jew who sees the world through different eyes now than he did 10 or even 5 years ago. He’s the Pulitzer Prize winning author of GlenGarry Glen Ross and his screenplays for movies such as The Untouchables, The Verdict and Wag the Dog have been nominated for Academy Awards.

He’s one of the few (now former) liberals who chose to look at other sides and read other ideas. His new heros are now conservative giants like Milton Freidman, Thomas Sowell and Shelby Steele. In the process, his eyes have been opened.

I examined my Liberalism and found it like an addiction to roulette. Here, though the odds are plain, and the certainty of loss apparent to anyone with a knowledge of arithmetic, the addict, failing time and again, is convinced he yet is graced with the power to contravene natural laws. The roulette addict, when he inevitably comes to grief, does not examine either the nature of roulette or of his delusion, but retires to develop a new system, and to scheme for more funds.
The great wickedness of Liberalism, I saw, was that those who devise the ever new State Utopias, whether crooks or fools, set out to bankrupt not themselves but others.*

*President Obama said, “The individual at some point must be able to say, ‘I have enough money.'” But will Mr. Obama out of office, say this to himself, and the vast riches he will enjoy? One must doubt it.

I started reading his new book yesterday. It’s only 223 pages long (minus his acknowledgments, bibliography and index) but every page, every paragraph is quotable. It’s an amazingly interesting, entertaining and educational book written in a playwright’s lyrical style.

I highly recommend it.

The most racially divisive president ever

I’ve had a week from some unpleasant place and it’s not over yet but I’m finally in a position (with time) to blog again. If you pray, please say one for my mother. If you don’t, just keep a kind thought for her because she is a good person and very sick right now.

 

Is it any wonder why Rasmussen polls say the white/black relations have NOT improved? Polls show a drop from 62% in 2009 to 36% now in those who believe that relations between races have improved. These are interesting statistics from Rasmussen:

Twenty-seven percent (27%) now say black-white relations are getting worse, up 10 points from July 2009, while 33% think they’re staying about the same. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

African-Americans are much more pessimistic than whites. Thirty-nine percent (39%) of whites think black-white race relations are getting better, but just 13% of blacks agree.

Confidence in the nation’s course among African-Americans soared after Barack Obama’s election. But then several prominent Democrats, perhaps most notably former President Jimmy Carter, suggested that opposition to the president’s health care plan was motivated in part by racism. Only 12% of all voters agreed in September of last year, but among blacks, 27% felt that way and 48% were undecided.

These numbers should come as no surprise to anyone when you remember this presidents remarks about [white] “cops who acted stupidly” and other politicians who continue to claim that anyone who disagrees with this president is a racist (Jimmy Carter, for instance.) The NAACP is “monitoring” the TEA Party for any signs of racism. And the liberal media is hammering home the race issue at every turn. It’s no wonder people believe that race relations have deteriorated since this presidents election.

Remember theObama’s words? He was going to bring us all together: he was going to be the president of ALL Americans. He was the post racial president. He was, according to Evan Thomas, “above it all. Almost like God.” And yet, the perception is that we are worse off than before, in regard to race. It’s as though the last 50 or 60 years of civil rights laws and affirmative action have had no positive results.

Some one needs to send that memo to Condi Rice, Colin Powell, Clarence Thomas, Thomas Sowell and countless other successful and respected Americans of Black ancestry.
