Big Sloth occupiers on Wall St – Mark Steyn
If you don’t like to think of [Steve] Jobs as a corporate exec (and a famously demanding one at that), think of him as a guy who went to work, and worked hard. There’s no appetite for that among those “occupying” Zuccotti Park. In the old days, the tribunes of the masses demanded an honest wage for honest work. Today, the tribunes of America’s leisured varsity class demand a world that puts “people before profits.”
If the specifics of their “program” are somewhat contradictory, the general vibe is consistent: They wish to enjoy an advanced western lifestyle without earning an advanced western living. The pampered, elderly children of a fin de civilization over-developed world, they appear to regard life as an unending vacation whose bill never comes due. Mark Steyn

ObamaCare Glitch Could Unravel Law | Michael F. Cannon | Daily Podcast | Cato Institute
This is really interesting and if you’re like me, you’ll have to listen to it a couple times to get it.Especially the part about the IRS. But this may be our way out of ObamaCare.

Forget this day at our peril
God will punish us if we ever forget the innocent people in these planes and buildings.
Two years ago, TheOne signed into law a remaking of this day into a National Day of Service. 3000 people died and we are supposed to recognize this as a day of service? Is that some kind of sick joke?
His plan was to “erase this day from our psyche” and remake it into something that makes no sense to Americans who need to grieve, who need to remember. It was just one of the many despicable things, but probably the most despicable, that this man has done since he took over the WH.
Now, today we have Obama’s cheerleader in chief, Paul Krugman in the NYT say that 9/11 has become “an occassion for [national] shame.”
What happened after 9/11 — and I think even people on the right know this, whether they admit it or not — was deeply shameful. T[h]e atrocity should have been a unifying event, but instead it became a wedge issue. Fake heroes like Bernie Kerik, Rudy Giuliani, and, yes, George W. Bush raced to cash in on the horror. And then the attack was used to justify an unrelated war the neocons wanted to fight, for all the wrong reasons.
Shame on him. Shame on his president.
This day will forever be a day of mourning for Americans, no matter what they try to do or what they say about it.
We will never forget.

It would be good to read or reread the American Spectator column by Matthew Vadum in 2009. I linked to it above. This is a walk down memory lane from only 2 years ago and it was shades of things to come from this WH, as well.
God Bless America

Frank Luntz’ Words that Work at work with the Socialists in power
Recognizing the unpopularity of the 2009 [stimulus] package, however, Democratic leaders have revised their message with less loaded language–“job creation” instead of “[CENSORED]” and “Make it in America” in lieu of “Recovery Act”–in hopes of tackling the jobs crisis. James Taranto/WSJ
The “[CENSORED]” word is stimulus. Do read the whole column. It’s very interesting and in fact, email it to friends and family. They need to read exactly what the Obama regime and his minions in Congress are trying to do to us, because we are obviously too stupid to really know what they are up to.
Just like it is no longer TAX, it’s now REVENUE, Pelosi and company have changed the words, to hide the meaning. Just change the word(ing) and they can pull the wool over our eyes.
uh huh. Are you fooled? Are you still fooled?
If so, then you ARE a fool!

Quote of the day – Maureen Dowd
Obama is still suffering from the Speech Illusion, the idea that he can come down from the mountain, read from a Teleprompter, cast a magic spell with his words and climb back up the mountain, while we scurry around and do what he proclaimed. Maureen Dowd

We have the same goal. Let’s focus on it.
The goal is to replace Obama next November and at this point there is not one GOP candidate who can do nearly as bad or worse than Obama has done for this nation.
There is no perfect candidate for any one of us. For me, Paul fails hugely on foreign policy; Perry’s immigration policy is hardly what I would agree with; Romney has that suitcase on his back called RomneyCare; Bachmann is just a little too strident. But I’ll take any one of them over Obama, any day. And I’m betting that most Conservatives agree with me – no matter what differences we might have with these candidates, they are head and shoulders better than the man in the Oval right now.
Right now, the democrats (now known as Marxists) are targeting the Tea party and from polling results, it appears it’s working for them. Fewer people are viewing the Tea party in favorable terms. Fewer people agree with the Tea party message. This is old news to most of you. But the fact is that the message is being stolen and perverted by the Marxists (once known as democrats) and we need to get that back. The Tea party are the freedom fighters for all and we have to make that message known. Concentrating on the differences between candidates and not on the president and his Marxist party is to our peril.
I want to see the GOP candidates stop beating each other up and start showing us what they will do differently than Obama. They need to stop sniping at each other and focus on Obama’s failed administration. We’ve got to be unified against the creeping socialism that is overtaking us or we will be doomed after November ’12.

Quote of the day – Mort Zuckerman
Many voters who supported him are no longer elated by the historic novelty of his candidacy and presidency. They hoped for a president who would be effective. Remember “Yes We Can”? Now many of his sharpest critics are his former supporters. Witness Bill Broyles, a one-time admirer who recently wrote in Newsweek that “Americans aren’t inspired by well-meaning weakness.” The president who first inspired with great speeches on red and blue America now seems to lack the ability to communicate any sense of resolve for a program, or any realization of the urgency of what might befall us. The teleprompter he almost always uses symbolizes and compounds his emotional distance from his audience. Mort Zuckerman/WSJ
