David Axelrod’s Alinsky-ism gave me an AH-HA! moment today

from The Huffington Post/Howard Fineman:

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama’s top adviser suggested to The Huffington Post late Wednesday that the administration is ready to accept an across-the-board, temporary continuation of steep Bush-era tax cuts, including those for the wealthiest taxpayers.

That appears to be the only way, said David Axelrod, that middle-class taxpayers can keep their tax cuts, given the legislative and political realities facing Obama in the aftermath of last week’s electoral defeat.

We have to deal with the world as we find it,” Axelrod said during an unusually candid and reflective 90-minute interview in his office, steps away from the Oval Office. “The world of what it takes to get this done.”

I knew I’d read this same comment before in Saul Alinsky’s book Rules for Radicals and went on a search to find this quote. Sure enough here it is:

“As an organizer I start from where the world is, as it is, not as I would like it to be. That we accept the world as it is does not in any sense weaken our desire to change it into what we believe it should be – it is necessary to begin where the world is if we are going to change it to what we think it should be. That means working in the system.”

I doubt that anyone else is going to catch this Axelrod slip but it’s in verbal gaffes like this that the true socialism of this regime, makes itself known.

Saul Alinsky is their hero, even Hillary wrote about him in college. If people would realize who the real terrorist are and not the Tea Party Members and conservatives, then maybe we could oust the traitors. I also heard someone threw an egg at Rahm, maybe he should have brought more eggs because apparently he missed.

Yep, it’s a well known fact that Alinsky is their idol. I read his book over a year ago. Levin was the first national figure to talk about him and I ran out and found the book as soon as I heard of him.

Like Ron (AFVET) says: know your enemy and it was my plan to know what they were going to do and how they were going to do it.

When I heard Axelrod’s quote on tv this morning it was like – wow, I know where that came from!
