Secret Service provided cover for the president in Cartagena

The Secret Service scandal afforded the president a pass by the press during his Summit of the Americas in Cartagena. Not that the Obama loving press would have even picked up on it and reported it – they wouldn’t have. They don’t report on anything that might put the president in a bad or questionable light. But the Secret Service scandal overshadowed anything of substance that might have come out of the summit.

When the genius president, the smartest man who ever sat in the Oval office, the man who is above it all, almost like God, was asked why the question of the Malvinas (known as the Falkland Islands to the rest of the world) which is a site of serious contention between Great Britain and Argentina, hadn’t come up at the summit, his response was most telling:

“In terms of the Maldives or the Falklands, whatever your preferred term, our position on this is that we are going to remain neutral.”  Obama, Cartagena, Columbia, April 15, 2012

Now you might think I made a typo, if you’ve caught it yet. I have not.

The brilliant constitutional thinker of our time, the mental giant in the White House, the holder of the Nobel peace prize without ever waging peace, confused the Malvinas (the Falklands) with the Maldives (off the coast of India.) An 8000 mile geographical faux pas.

But what’s even worse about this is his continued disregard for our greatest and oldest ally. Ronald Reagan stood with Margaret Thatcher when she waged war over these islands 30 years ago. The first thing Obama did when he moved into the Oval was return the bust of Churchill to the Brits. And lest we forget his most despicable act toward our ally; Obama sold out our friends to the Russians when he gave away the Brits nuclear secrets.
