FCC votes today to regulate the internet

Why does the government insist on screwing up things that aren’t broken?

There was nothing wrong with DADT. Does any employer ask about the sex life of any prospective employee? No one has ever asked me if I’m a heterosexual during a job interview. They can’t ask that question.

So now it appears that we are going to see the internet regulated by the government. The goal is to stifle conservative thought and speech but they are saying it’s to make it more fair to the consumer. Where in the Constitution does it say it’s the government’s job to make things “fair” in the markets or for the people?

The FCC says that big corporations like Verizon and ComCast aren’t being fair to it’s customers by slowing connections or not allowing connections to certain sites. If that’s the case then the customer has the option to change providers. And when enough customers drop the company, the failing company will either make changes to appeal to the population or they will fail entirely. That’s how the free market works. It’s called competition.

But the government can’t stand something that works well and is unregulated. Regulation means, in the end, more money for the government, as well as control over the content or production.

The FCC wants to make the internet available to everyone in this nation. Where is it not available? There is nothing that is holding anyone back from access. It’s free in every library in this nation and available in almost every school. It’s cheap in most markets. Is it the goal of the FCC to soon provide every household in this nation with a computer?

The FCC is violating a court order and the Congress by this action. Where does the FCC stop with this? Once one regulation is put in motion, nothing stops it from further regulations.  We all know that government has never stopped at one goal line. They keep moving the goal and keep regulating further. The real goal is to quash conservative thought and speech.

The day will come when I will have to pay for this blog or end it. That’s one of the FCC’s goals – another way to make money for the government and another way to stifle conservative speech. That means that conservative bloggers like me, will not be allowed this free speech forum. It’s already being done in Pennsylvania where a person has to pay $300 for a license to blog.

A license to blog – think about that. We will need permission by the government to exercise our free speech right. There will be countless sites that you will not be able to read or post your opinion to because there will be countless blogs that will no longer exist. It stifles the free speech of readers, as well.

This is going to be a boondoggle for lawyers. Litigation will rule the day and the free market and free speech will be in the dumper.

We have not even touched the surface of what this will do to small providers like Lariat in Wyoming which provides service to rural areas. They are looking at their demise at the hands of this behemoth regulatory agency.

The FCC is making an end run around the Courts, Congress and the Constitution. This is the only way the Obama Regime can erase the first amendment from the Constitution and that is what they want.

2 more good reasons Gov. Perry should boycott the Governors border meeting

Outrageous!

from the WSJ story - Huckabee and Quijas in a Mexican prison.

Mexico is torturing and falsely imprisoning our citizens and our government just doesn’t care. The consulate tells the family of these men (in the WSJ story) that they can’t and won’t do anything to help, although there are claims of torture by the authorities. This would never happen in America. Accusations of torture by prisoners in America, usually end with someone being fired, tried and thrown in jail. (If the victim is a minority, riots also ensue.) These men, in Mexican jail, must feel totally forsaken and hopeless. They can’t even get an attorney who can speak English, for cryin’ out loud!

The American government is so consumed with a law in Arizona that mirrors federal law that they ignore what’s happening to our citizens in Mexico. The bleeding heart left and its government can’t be concerned with the allegations of torture from American citizens who have been arrested and are being tried in Mexico. They are too busy screaming racism in Arizona.

I hope Americans stop going to Mexico. I have friends who go there to purchase medication or for very cheap dental work, others who go there for vacation. This is a dangerous place and our government doesn’t care what happens there. They especially don’t care what happens to our citizens if they are arrested and then tortured.

This government is giving Mexico over $1billion (which we really don’t have) to fight drug cartels. That’s in addition to the over $20billion of  US money a year that legal and illegal workers send home to Mexico. They get plenty of our money.  Americans should not be spending a single dime in that country.

And they seem to get plenty of respect from our politicians, too. Remember this:

A standing OVATION? I am still outraged when I see this.

Until there is a fair judicial and legal system in Mexico (hey! did you see those pigs fly by?) Americans are obligated to avoid business with Mexico. We owe it to our fellow citizens  – Huckabee, Quijas and all others – to stand firm against Mexico.

CNSNews.com – Pelosi Says She Has a Duty to Pursue Policies in Keeping With The Values of Jesus, ‘The Word Made Flesh’

As a Catholic, and as sinful as I know this is to say, I really can’t stand this woman and her stupid ramblings about the Church. She’s so clueless.  And she’s an embarrassment. This is what Beck has been talking about when he preached about the left moving into our churchs. She is doing exactly what he’s been talking about.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

He said, “now I’m depressed.”

I ruined my friends night by explaining some realities – my realities – to him. After an hour on the phone he said, “Now I’m depressed. What are we supposed to do next?”

To begin with, you have to start thinking like they think.

I believe the first thing Obama will do, as I blogged last night and as Rush foretold today, is to push amnesty through. Just like the Stimulus bill, this bill has already been written. I think it was a promise, among many, that he made to those democrat congressmen and women to get their votes on health care. If they can give him health care, then ram amnesty through, they will have a custom built voting bloc and more importantly, Obama will have one in ’12.

I believe that if the right is able to win back the majority, in the House at least, Obama will have something to run against, just as Rush also foretold today. Right now, all Obama has is a rubber stamp on Capital Hill. That’s great to get his social changes in place but when he runs for re-election in ’12 what will he have to run against? Unless we get a really stellar conservative, and Good Lord, I hope we do, he has have the Congress to run against. It’s the Obama way – demonize something or someone. He will demonize the Republican majority in the Congress who held up his “transformation” of America.

But let’s don’t forget, Obama’s done the bulk of his transforming before Novemeber ’10. He had to do it because he knew that after November, he’d no longer have the majority to do it with. He knew this last year. He knew this after the election of ’08 when Democrats were swept in to office with him. He knew that this majority would only last until the next election because he knew that Americans would be outraged at his vision of transformation.

And he was right.

We are outraged.

Within the next few months or year, Justice Stevens will be retiring. That means another liberal Justice on the court. The very court that will be hearing the States cases against the federal government’s unConstitutional health care laws. Another domino that falls on the side of  the Marxists. How we overcome this one, I’m not sure. Perhaps repealing the law in Congress will be enough.

But if we don’t start thinking 2 or 3 steps ahead of these people, and prepare for the absolute worst, we will never reclaim this country. Another term of Obama will nail the coffin closed. We should not be depressed. We should put on our game faces and prepare for whatever they throw ahead of us. They cannot be allowed to ruin the nation.

We have Founder’s promises and future generation’s dreams that have to be protected.

Don your helmets and shields, Patriots. It’s time for the real battle.

Schlafly: Democrats are the party of death

WASHINGTON, March 21 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Phyllis Schlafly, president and founder of the conservative grassroots public policy organization Eagle Forum, made the following remarks after the public announcement that formerly pro-life Democrat Bart Stupak (D-MI) will cast a “yes” vote for the Senate health care bill today in the House: “It is naive for any elected official, especially one who describes himself as ‘pro-life,’ to expect that a promise to issue an Executive Order that reasserts the intentions of the Hyde Amendment will be fulfilled by the most pro-abortion president to ever sit in the White House. Perhaps Mr. Stupak and his fellow pro-life Democrats forget that President Obama’s first Executive Order was the repeal of the Mexico City Policy to allow for international funding of abortion.”

“Not only would an Executive Order be rendered meaningless in the face of Congress passing legislation which actively provides for the massive expansion and funding of abortion services, but anyone who doubts the abortion tsunami which awaits this bill becoming law lives in a fantasy world.”

“Barack Obama has lined every existing federal agency with the most dedicated pro-abortion ideologues, and we know that he will continue this pattern of pro-abortion appointments when it comes time for him to fill the over-100 bureaucracies created to administer his socialized health care program.”

“Any formerly pro-life Democrat who casts a ‘Yes’ vote for this Senate health care bill tonight will be forever remembered as being among the deciding votes which facilitated the largest expansion of abortion services since Roe v. Wade.” “Mr. Stupak and his Democrat followers have now clarified that you cannot be pro-life and be a Democrat. If abortion was truly their biggest issue, they wouldn’t willfully align themselves with the Party of Death.”

“This vote will expose the myth of the ‘pro-life Democrat.’ With this single vote, the Democratic Party will divide our nation into the Party of Death and the Party of Life, and future elections will never be the same.”

Call for a vote and get it over with!

If these events are true, they make no difference to me and they are nothing more than a distraction from the real issues that we will be facing after today’s vote.

How many times have tea party-ers and all patriots in fact, been called racists, angry mob, nazi’s, etc? Has everyone but the conservatives forgotten about Kenneth Gladney’s attack by SEIU members?

So, some congressmen got spit on. So, someone called Barney Frank a fag. So what? Some even called these lawmakers idiots. Imagine that!  So the f*ck what?

This behavior doesn’t reflect mine – well, maybe the idiot part.  But I’ve never spit on anyone and can’t imagine ever doing so. I’ve never called anyone a fag and know I’ll never do that. Whoever behaved this way today in DC, does not reflect the majority of Americans who are frustrated beyond belief at being wholly ignored by the people who we employ in Washington? Capitol Hill is ours, every inch of marble and wood is ours. Every person working inside it, work for us, at our pleasure. If nothing else was accomplished this weekdend with the tea party rally in DC, it was to remind those people that they are nothing more than employees of the American people.

And come November, whatever they do from today on, they will be pink slipped. I don’t see any redemption for them now.

Obama with ‘real’ patriots

This morning at George Mason Univeristy, Obama’s first statement was

“It’s good to be back among real patriots.”

This is the president who said he wanted to be the “president of all Americans.” But what he’s accomplished is being the most devisive  presidents of all time.  He fosters and nurtures that division. It’s how Alinsky-ites accomplish their ends: pitting the have-nots against the haves, the tea party against the Marxists, the people against big, ugly, greedy corporations like insurance companies. Soon it will be coal companies and oil companies. He’s already gone after Wall St. and the banks.

His legacy will not be health care for all Americans, although that is what he wants. His legacy will be that of  the man who ruined America and brought her to her knees. His legacy will have no comparison or competition in the history of this nation. His legacy will be the man who destroyed the democrat party and the American dream. His legacy will be that of the man who brought America down from the greatest, most promising land on the planet to just another socialist country, gimping along with lost values and lost dreams.

His party will pay for this in November and he will pay first in 2012 and then for the rest of his life as the man who turned out the light on the brightest, greatest nation on Earth.

But come November, Boehner will be Speaker and Pelosi, will be nothing but a bad memory. Harry Reid will be home in Searchlight – that mecca of fine living in Nevada. And there WILL be pay back!
