We had a responsibility to act… SO???

According to who? And why?

Why do we have a responsibility to act in Libya and not in Syria? Why do we have a responsibility to act at all, in the Middle East (short of helping our only real ally, Israel)?

Oh, I remember now – we need the oil. Our allies need the oil. Where are all those anti-war protestors that screamed “no blood for oil” during the Bush years? What’s happened to the stupid Cindy Sheehan?

Okay, now this conservative is screaming it: No blood for oil! Bring our soldiers home!

I could NOT care less about muslims killing muslims. And I don’t want our soldiers sacrificed to protect them from each other. When they are done killing each other, they’ll be back to killing us.

This Libya thing is about civil war – a power struggle – and oil.

If we are arming ONE Al Qaeda member, that’s one too many. If we are aiding one, it’s one too many. None of us have forgotten who attacked us on 9/11. I’m sure there are a lot of liberals in this country who have, including it seems, TheOne, but the majority of us, regular Americans, have not forgotten.

The Libyans are  tribes, who mostly still live in a stone age with cell phones and modern weapons. They don’t care about or understand western democracy. They aren’t fighting for “freedom.” Who’s kidding who? They are fighting for power and control. And the ones who win (most likely it will be Al Qaeda) won’t be our pals. They’ll be very rich – oil rich – enemies.

Wake up, America! they won’t like us any better than they did on 9/11 or 2 days ago. A no-fly zone and air cover is not going to change that and the president just can’t seem to “get it.” They may have the same color politics – Obama and the muslims – but that’s where it ends.

And while we’re on the subject of a “responsibility to act” – what about the Christians in Ethiopia who recently were terrorized, killed and had their churches burned down? What about the Christians in Afghanistan who are being terrorized and killed? What about the outrage for a family in Israel that was murdered in their sleep?

WHERE IS THAT DAMNED OUTRAGE, MISTER PRESIDENT? WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT ”RESPONSIBLITY TO ACT?”

In wake of world air assaults, Qaddifi calls for cease-fire

Didn’t we see this coming? And if not, why didn’t we?

How do we invoke a no-fly zone when Qaddifi’s soldiers are no longer (or so they say) firing on their own people?

Okay. A few threats from the world and he backs off. So when we pull off and go home again, you know as well as the sun will come up tomorrow that he will resume his attacks, although rebels in the east are claiming that the attacks have not ceased.

Drudge calls it a head-fake. I’d say that’s pretty accurate.

A job the UN might just be able to handle

This is so sad and in my mind, these are crimes against humanity. The antiquities and archeological sites are being looted by out of control Egyptians because there is no one to protect them. Would this not be a use for the impotent UN? Couldn’t they go in and guard this stuff while the Egyptians sort out their nation’s future and direction?

According to the now former head of antiquities, Dr. Zahi Hawass. “since Mubarak’s resignation, looting has increased all over the country, and our antiquities are in grave danger from criminals trying to take advantage of the current situation.”

Anyone who ever watched the Discovery or History Channels, recognizes Dr. Hawass, sporting his famous Indiana Jones fedora.

Dr. Hawass has announced that he will no longer serve as minister of antiquities due to the animosity that now exists in the so-called government of Egypt. This is a real loss for them. Dr. Hawass is a remarkable man who’s been a terrific good will ambassador for his nation while promoting Egypt’s great history to people around the globe. The impact he’s had on tourism had to have been immense. But now there are many in the current leadership who feel that his ties with the Mubarak regime are too close.

Close ties to Mubarak or not, Dr. Hawas was a true believer in his country’s historical impact on the world and a true lover of his nation’s history.  His zeal for the greatness of the Egyptian civilization can’t be denied. If you haven’t figured it out, I loved watching any history show that he was featured in.

Now he has to stand down and watch his country’s greatest treasures being trashed by his fellow countrymen. This must be heartbreaking for him because it sure does hurt me to know this is happening.  And if there was ever a cause that the UN was maybe capable of carrying out, it would be the protection of Egypt’s treasures.

It appears however, that the UN is too busy worrying about human rights violations in every nation that’s not Islamic to be bothered with these real life crimes against humanity in Egypt.

Ha! Libya investigated Arizona

I never cease to be amazed at the hypocrisy and stupidity of the left. I lump the UN in with the left.

They put Libya on the Human Rights Council and then investigated — ARIZONA!!!

Libya, a nation that is and has been killing, torturing and beating its own people, to sit in judgment of Arizona. ARIZONA, FOR CRYIN’ OUT LOUD!

This is a totally crazy world.

If this is not reason enough for us to pull out of the UN, what will it take?

The www gets more webbier for me

I’m going to throw some things out here that I freely admit, I don’t really understand.

The current CEO of ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) was formerly with the DHS. His name is Rod Beckstrom and he was Director of the National Cyber Security Center, which is part of Homeland Security. He is also a board member of the Environmental Defense Fund, big in the green movement in California and a trustee of Jamii Bora Trust which is based in Nairobi, Kenya. Jamii Bora Trust is an organization that loans money to poor people in Kenya. It’s call micro-economics.

ICANN is headquartered in Marina del Rey, California and part of USC.

What does ICANN do, exactly? Well, I’m not really sure. Wikipedia says  that ICANN’s primary principles of operation have been described as helping preserve the operational stability of the Internet; to promote competition; to achieve broad representation of global Internet community; and to develop policies appropriate to its mission through bottom-up, consensus-based processes.

The story of ICANN and Beckstrom go in several directions and can’t be covered in one blog post without confusing myself to no end. You can read about both at Wikipedia and the UN’s attempts to involve itself in an attempted take-over of the internet.

I’ve started a trail for myself and for you: Beckstrom, formerly head of cyber security for DHS which is currently seizing domains, is now CEO of ICANN.  He is on the board of EDF and a proponent of the green church, where Obama also worships. And Beckstrom is a trustee of an organization that loans money to poor folks in Obama’s homeland.

Back to why these domains were seized by DHS and ICE.

These domains are selling pirated materials, mostly music but also NFL jerseys and other items. Due to this pirating, the entertainment industry says they are losing money. Who are some of the biggest contributors to theOne’s campaign? Who is his liberal base? These people in Hollywood want some action taken against the theft of their copyrighted materials.

What I can’t understand is why DHS and ICE were involved in this. This is by no means a national security situation nor does it have anything to do with illegal immigration.

What I do know is that I’m not done with this topic.

Obama’s High crimes and Misdemeanors

Remember this? America has been arrogant, dismissive and derisive…

Now, who is being arrogant and dismissive? This administration and president refused the assistance of 13 nations in the first 2 weeks of this oil spill. Other nations, including even the UN, stepped forward and offered their equipment and expertize in this catastrophe. They were rebuffed and sent away. Not only did the Netherlands, Canada, France and Norway offer to help us but Croatia, for cryin’ out loud!

And we said “No thanks. We’ll handle things.”

A Belgian group–DEME– contends it can clean up the oil in three to four months with specialty vessel and equipment, rather than an estimated nine months if done only by the U.S.  The article noted there are no more than 5 or 6 of those ships in the world and the top specialist players are the two Belgian companies– DEME and De Nul – and their Dutch competitors.

The U.S. does not have the similar technology and vessel to accomplish the cleanup task because those ships would cost twice as much to build in the U.S. than in the Far East. The article further criticizes this “great technological delay” is a direct consequence of the Jones Act.

Our fellow Americans who live and depend on the gulf for their livelihoods are being sacrificed because this president is too arrogant, too all-knowing to accept the help and expertise offered by nations with the technology to fix this problem. Our wetlands, beaches and precious creatures are dying at the expense of this egomaniac in the oval office.
But we all know that no one is as smart as he is. No one is as omnipotent as the Great Obama:
If this is not some kind of malfeasance or misfeasance in office, I don’t know what is. But this behavior qualifies for both, as far as I understand the definitions.  And if what he’s doing doesn’t qualify as “high crimes and misdemeanors” against this nation, our land and people, then I’m a Chinese astronaut… a really, really pissed off Chinese astronaut.
