God will punish us if we ever forget the innocent people in these planes and buildings.
Two years ago, TheOne signed into law a remaking of this day into a National Day of Service. 3000 people died and we are supposed to recognize this as a day of service? Is that some kind of sick joke?
His plan was to “erase this day from our psyche” and remake it into something that makes no sense to Americans who need to grieve, who need to remember. It was just one of the many despicable things, but probably the most despicable, that this man has done since he took over the WH.
Now, today we have Obama’s cheerleader in chief, Paul Krugman in the NYT say that 9/11 has become “an occassion for [national] shame.”
What happened after 9/11 — and I think even people on the right know this, whether they admit it or not — was deeply shameful. T[h]e atrocity should have been a unifying event, but instead it became a wedge issue. Fake heroes like Bernie Kerik, Rudy Giuliani, and, yes, George W. Bush raced to cash in on the horror. And then the attack was used to justify an unrelated war the neocons wanted to fight, for all the wrong reasons.
Shame on him. Shame on his president.
This day will forever be a day of mourning for Americans, no matter what they try to do or what they say about it.
We will never forget.

It would be good to read or reread the American Spectator column by Matthew Vadum in 2009. I linked to it above. This is a walk down memory lane from only 2 years ago and it was shades of things to come from this WH, as well.
Last week, on Hannity’s radio show he discussed a recent column by Jeffery Lord/The American Spectator, called American Tipping Point. In it, Lord discusses Malcolm Gladwell’s book Tipping Point and makes comparisons to America’s tipping points at different times in our history and the rise of conservatism and the Tea Party.
Lord says that: Thanks to the Tea Party movement, Conservatism is on the verge of a major victory that dwarfs the technical and actual realities of whatever the details of the resulting deficit deal passed last night. Yes, there is a long, long way to go. But the idea that America doesn’t, in fact, have to be governed for eternity as a debtor nation with a mammoth, out-of-control, ever-expanding government is winning the day. It is tipping the balance with increasing decisiveness against an idea that has become so much a part of conventional wisdom that even some conservatives, startlingly including, inexplicably, the Wall Street Journal, have displayed the wobblies at the thought of confronting the Leviathan. The WSJ’s attacks yesterday against Jim DeMint, Michele Bachmann and Sean Hannity, saying “sooner or later the GOP had to give up the hostage” — follows another editorial in which the paper railed against Tea Party members as “hobbits.” The paper, sounding like cranky British Tories in 1775 Boston rather than the bold, forward-looking paper that championed the much-derided ideas of Ronald Reagan, wildly bought into the liberal notion that the Tea Party from Hobbitville is somehow holding the government hostage, instead of the other way around. In fact Big Government liberalism has spent decades holding and trying to hold the average American hostage to all manner of outrageous tax rates, taxes and regulations on everything from capital gains to sex (in Harry Reid’s Nevada) to soda, SUVs and poker.
Lord chronicles the rise of conservatism from Senator Robert Taft’s strident opposition to FDR’s mega New Deal in the 30’s, through William F. Buckley to the great Ronald Reagan to Mark Levin’s landmark best seller and Tea Party bible, Liberty and Tyranny and how all these little, or sometimes large events, are causing a tipping point in American history. He says that conservatism is spreading almost like a virus: in Gladwell’s vocabulary, “connectors” — “people with a particular and rare set of social gifts” who have the ability to “spread” an idea like an epidemic, a Tipping Point is in the works. Henry Regnery, for example, published and made a star of Buckley, who befriended Reagan who inspired Limbaugh, who was befriended by Buckley and placed on the cover of National Review, with Limbaugh in turn aiding Hannity and Levin and Levin’s book inspiring the Tea Party etc., etc.
Reading Lord, once again gave me hope. And reminded me that in Beck’s words, we are not alone. Most of America is conservative to some degree. Most of Americans want to be or remain at least, middle class and we see that vanishing under Obama’s ideology. Most of America finds communism (call it socialism or European socialism but it’s still a form of communism) to be antithetical to the fundamentals of our beliefs and our founding. And most of America will fight it.
I hope they don’t think for a minute that we will forget being called racists, nazis, homophobes, Hobbits and terrorists. We will not. The real revolution will occur on November 6th, 2012 – bloodless, gunless and in a voting booth. They are being fore warned and to disregard the tipping point signs will be at their own peril.
It’s a must-read by Lord and I hope you will take the time to read it.
For the sake of simplicity, you owe $1000 this month but you only have $600. You will have to borrow $400 to make it through the month. Now imagine you have to do that every month for the next year. That’s $4800 you will need to borrow to pay your bills for the year. And you know that you’re going to have to borrow that same amount every month for the next year (and the foreseeable future.)
Now add the interest to that $400/month loan, that is if someone or some entity will loan you this money. Interest at 13% (that’s a really good rate on your Visa card) adds $624/year to the balance or $52/month. So now you will owe $5424 for the year.
You know that you can’t pay your bills with the income you have now. You know that you can’t pay your bills without borrowing $4 for every $10 that you spend, or $40 for every $100 or $400 for every $1000. Or as in the case of the United States of America – .40 for every $1.00 that it spends.
What would you do?
You could start by calling your banker or your credit card company and ask them to raise your borrowing limit. Chances are real good they will laugh at you, before telling you no. And anyone with a high school education knows that raising your DEBT LIMIT will only dig your hole deeper in the long run.
So, you sit down at the kitchen table and prioritize. If you’re an average American, you start cutting out all the things you can do without so you can pay for the things that matter, like your mortgage and medicine and your personal yacht.
Then you put a lid or a cap on all your future spending.
No more dinners on Broadway or flying your favorite pizza chef in from Chicago.
No more Spanish vacations in your private jet. What? You don’t have a jet?
No more entertainment like those private Paul McCartney or Stevie Wonder concerts.
Next, you start looking around your house at the things you can live without and sell off. But remember, that’s only going to get you through a month or 2. Eventually, you’ll run out of things you can sell, unless you live in the White House and then there’s an unlimited amount of things of value to sell.
Maybe your Wall Street friends will throw fund raising parties for you. Oh please. Don’t tell me you have no Wall Street buds.
Publish a book with a well known terrorist ghost writing it for you? You don’t know any terrorists? Sucks to be you, then.
You don’t have a $10 million winery in California that you can sell? Oh, sorry. I’d mistaken you for Nancy Pelosi.
This isn’t our life. But we are shouldering the burden for these expenses and all the expenses that benefit everyone else, including and most irritating – the political class.
Most of us would fore go our social security checks for a couple more years. Most of us would be willing to work a couple more years rather than dump these bills on our children and grandchildren. Most of us are willing to do with less or do without to balance our books and not leave unheard of debt for our kids.
And most of us would like to see the ruling class suffering just a little bit with us.
Why do we have a responsibility to act in Libya and not in Syria? Why do we have a responsibility to act at all, in the Middle East (short of helping our only real ally, Israel)?
Oh, I remember now – we need the oil. Our allies need the oil. Where are all those anti-war protestors that screamed “no blood for oil” during the Bush years? What’s happened to the stupid Cindy Sheehan?
Okay, now this conservative is screaming it: No blood for oil! Bring our soldiers home!
I could NOT care less about muslims killing muslims. And I don’t want our soldiers sacrificed to protect them from each other. When they are done killing each other, they’ll be back to killing us.
This Libya thing is about civil war – a power struggle – and oil.
If we are arming ONE Al Qaeda member, that’s one too many. If we are aiding one, it’s one too many. None of us have forgotten who attacked us on 9/11. I’m sure there are a lot of liberals in this country who have, including it seems, TheOne, but the majority of us, regular Americans, have not forgotten.
The Libyans are tribes, who mostly still live in a stone age with cell phones and modern weapons. They don’t care about or understand western democracy. They aren’t fighting for “freedom.” Who’s kidding who? They are fighting for power and control. And the ones who win (most likely it will be Al Qaeda) won’t be our pals. They’ll be very rich – oil rich – enemies.
Wake up, America! they won’t like us any better than they did on 9/11 or 2 days ago. A no-fly zone and air cover is not going to change that and the president just can’t seem to “get it.” They may have the same color politics – Obama and the muslims – but that’s where it ends.
And while we’re on the subject of a “responsibility to act” – what about the Christians in Ethiopia who recently were terrorized, killed and had their churches burned down? What about the Christians in Afghanistan who are being terrorized and killed? What about the outrage for a family in Israel that was murdered in their sleep?
WHERE IS THAT DAMNED OUTRAGE, MISTER PRESIDENT? WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT ”RESPONSIBLITY TO ACT?”

“We have discovered how to hit the Jews where they are most vulnerable. The Jews love life, so that is what we will take from them. We are going to win, because they love life and we love death.”
– Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary General of Hezbollah
The following video is graphic and disturbing, so be warned before you watch or forward it to the 50 second mark.
Nothing has disturbed me as much as the slaughter of this Jewish family on March 11th. This unspeakable act which seems to have garnered not ONE statement from our government, our state department or the man who sits in the oval office, disgusts and saddens me. I have seen virtually no American press coverage of this. And I can’t understand why there is no public outrage. I can’t understand why there is only silence from the Hollywood elite and those celebrated American terrorists, Bill Ayers and his lovely wife Bernadine Dohrn, who all support Palestine. (Dorhn, along with Code Pink, were part of the phoney flotilla that was enroute to the Gaza Strip with weapons for the Palestinians.)
In order to fight and beat these barbarians, we have to first understand what and who we are fighting. Please read Steven Brown/FrontpageMag.com. You will come away with a whole new mindset on radical islam.
You know, I don’t watch network tv. Never. It’s a waste of time. But CBS has a show called The Good Wife which apparently has a strong political bent. Such a bent that they now have a character who is a Tea Party member named Kurt McVeigh. And what images does that conjure up for you? What do you suppose is the message that these writers are trying to send?
I guess if Tea Partiers aren’t going to really bomb federal buildings and kill Americans in masse, then they will create the illusion for the American public of it happening.
According to this article at FoxNews, they have taken more than one jab at Sarah Palin and this is another – at her and at the Tea Party at large. As I write this I see that Megyn Kelly will be taking up this topic on her show today. I hope you watch.
It amazes me that people actually watch network television. By watching it, it’s being supported and shows like this are being supported also. I can’t picket CBS corporate headquarters, I live in Arizona and the only other way to send a message to the networks is by boycotts – something I don’t really like unless we are talking about The View. But somehow the message needs to get through to these Hollywood elites that America does not appreciate their vision of our citizens and our nation.
Now we’re terrorists. Add that to the list of other negative monikers: thugs, haters, deniers, birthers, Nazis, Hitlers, racists, homophobes, Islamophobes:
“Do you allow yourself to be held hostage and get something done for the sake of getting something done, when in fact it might be perverse in its ultimate results? It’s almost like the question of do you negotiate with terrorists,” [Senator] Menendez [D-NJ] said when asked whether he and other Democrats would accept a compromise with Republicans.
Like the days of drive-in movies, there’s something romantic and comforting about the days of passenger trains.
Remember the dining car scene in North by Northwest where Cary Grant meets Eva Marie Saint for the first time? Linen table cloths and a flower vase on the table. . .
But there’s no money to be made in passenger trains anymore or Burlington Northern would be running them right now. That’s the reason Governor-elect John Kasich is right to refuse the building of a commuter rail in Ohio. If the private sector sees no profit in running passenger trains again, why does the government think it’s a good idea? Just look at what AmTrack costs us every day for proof that this is a losing proposition.
On the other hand, if passenger trains were available to me, and I don’t mean AmTrack, I’d never fly again. I’d take a train, run by the private sector, almost anywhere rather than fly. I wonder how many people feel the same way I do. Flying has become such a major hassle, that I don’t plan to ever fly again unless in the event of a family emergency. I can get back to Wyoming in less than 24 hours, by car, with a lot less government intrusion.
I’m in favor of the opt-on day that is being promoted online. Opt-out of naked body scans and cause a slow down in the procedures. Go for it! Our security is reactive not proactive. We create another layer of security after another threat is thwarted. We have to take off our shoes because some IslamoFacist boarded a plane with explosives in his shoes. Body scans now because another tried to blow up a plane with explosives in his shorts. And in that case, it was an alert passenger who risked his life to thwart that attack – not an air marshal.
The headline at Drudge today is “The Terrorists Have Won.” That is absolutely correct. The airlines are nickle and dime-ing us for an extra suitcase, a blanket or a glass of Coke. We’ve given up the right to a comfortable and quick way to travel and our privacy to fear.
I am quite frankly tired of it all and I’m just not going to fly anymore.
“Brace yourselves, because the war with Muslims has just begun,” 31-year-old Faisal Shahzad told a federal judge. “Consider me the first droplet of the blood that will follow.”
