Quote of the day – Las Vegas Review-Journal

…Nevada continues to have the nation’s highest unemployment rate, and Nevada not only ranks last among the 50 states in federal tax dollars returned per capita, but last in “stimulus” funding as well. And let’s not forget that although Sen. Reid claimed to have single-handedly rescued the world from an economic depression, he blames Nevada’s woes on former President Bush and Republicans.

So our job-creating, world-saving, pork-scoring senator can’t create jobs, lift Nevadans’ standard of living or bring home the bacon, after all?

Intolerance of Conservative women – by women. My boycott continues.

Where are the so-called women’s groups defending these women? The National Organization of Women actually endorsed Meg Whitman’s opponent after the wh*re comment and only after some teeth-pulling by the media did they come out against the Gawker attack on Christine O’Donnell (originally NOW spokespeople said twice they were “passing” on the story).

Perhaps more importantly, where in the world are the ABC executives denouncing Joy Behar’s unprofessional and misogynic rant against Sharron Angle? Might as well put them in the same category as NPR for their firing Juan Williams. ABCs silence is a disgusting show of intolerance towards conservative women.

Joy Behar needs to be fired, immediately. Are ABC executives hiding under their desks, afraid of her wrath? Get over it and do the right thing.

I’m keeping up my boycott and daily letter writing to The View and ABC – although I never watch either, they don’t know that.  You can write to ABC and complain, too. If Walters has no more control over her “colleagues” than this, she shouldn’t have a show.

This is not all about Sharron Angle, either. We’ve all seen the clips of Behar attacking Sarah Palin over the last almost 3 years. Behar is nothing but Garafalo -sorta-light. These are mean, hateful, spiteful women who lack any semblance of class and should not be in a position where younger women look to them as role-models.

In short, they are school-yard bullies and need to be taken off the air. And if taking them off the air is not possible then let’s all just turn them off!

Behar: “This Bit**” Sharron Angle Is “Going To Hell”

I guess you have to click on the link to see Joy flip out. My God, these people are scared, as well they should be. I don’t know why anyone watches this show and I don’t know why Walters keeps her on. Behar is so unhinged all the time and so rude.

“The View” co-host Joy Behar flips out after Sharron Angle attacks Harry Reid on his position on illegal immigration.

Reid-Angle debate according to Me and Maureen. Dana Perino takes on Dowd.

It’s amazing how 2 people can view the same event and come away with entirely different perspectives and different views on the outcome. I watched the Angle-Reid debate, just as Maureen Dowd (NYT famed columnist) did, although she was actually present and I was watching on CSPAN. By all accounts, including the very left leaning Las Vegas Sun, Angle won. And won big. (The Las Vegas Sun is the Air America of Las Vegas. It couldn’t remain in business because no one read it, hence no one purchased advertising on its pages. The only way it’s remained in Las Vegas is by a joint operating agreement with the Review-Journal, which means it’s measly few pages are inserted into the R-J.)

If you listened to Rush on Friday, he hit all the debate highlights of note, and for Reid there were many. The guy really sounded and looked like he was just no longer up to the job of Senator and especially not Majority Leader of the Senate. He was disjointed and out of focus. He had to keep falling back on the old democrat talking points, sharing nothing new and stating outright lies. He said it wasn’t until after he made his famous “this war is lost” comment that the surge took place. Not true. He told us that he became rich because  “as everyone knows, I was a successful lawyer” and he has “lived on a fixed income” since going to Washington. Both not true, unless you consider that because he votes for his own pay raises, that it’s a fixed income. From sometime before he graduated law school until today, minus 2 years, he was never in private practice. In fact, he’s never worked in the private sector as an adult.  He’s been on the government dole his entire adult life. I think the most distinctly leftist and for me, jaw dropping comment came when Reid said that insurance companies are not in business for altruistic reasons but because they want to make a profit. Stunningly socialist.

Angle was sharp and did not appear at all rehearsed. She stayed focused and on the attack. It put Reid back on his heels because I don’t believe that he expected this from Sharron. Dowd says that Sharron was simply mean. That she is a dupe of Karl Rove and other right-wing operatives whose target is Reid.  I have news for Dowd: Reid is the target of every conservative in America right now. She inferred that Angle wasn’t smart enough to know how to respond to these questions on her own and was in need of coaching from the heavy hitters.

But before she went after Sharron, Dowd was petty, catty and small minded with every well known Republican woman, from Christine O’Donnell to Sarah Palin. The jealousy of these left-wing hags has no limits, they attack in the cattiest of ways any conservative woman in the public eye and they condescend to those of us who are the unknown but loud mass. And after reading her response to dour Dowds column in todays NYT, I’m proud to be part of the Dana Perino crowd:

Usually I’d ignore [Maureen]. But most conservative women running for office don’t have time to stop and be petty. I can do that for them.

As I’ve said about Maureen: It must be hard to be that angry all the time. That’s why I stay cheerful — just to irritate her. Two can play at that game, sister.

Harry Reid holding our troops hostage

from brokencountry.com

In order for our troops to get the funding for body armor and ammunition and stuff they need, Republicans will have to vote for the immigration bill that Reid has attached to the Defense bill at the 11th hour.  This immigration bill, dubbed the DREAM Act, gives a pathway to citizenship for minor illegal aliens. The vote for this will be next Tuesday.

If the GOP doesn’t vote in favor of this, they are leaving our troops stranded and unarmed. If they vote for it, they are moving big steps toward amnesty for illegals.

This is the Harry Way. This is the reason he has to go. This is what the Republicans and Angle have to jump on during this campaign. Reid has got to be tossed out.

Nothing is as unpatriotic and unAmerican as ransoming our troops in order to pass his illegal immigration legislation. The purpose of this is to get the Hispanic votes in Nevada. This is the lowest move any senator could make.
