Obama: “I’m a little bit country” in what is a transparent political shift

From CNSNews.

In what is obviously a political move, TheOne has announced the creation of a “Rural Council” because “Strong rural communities are key to a stronger America.”

To top it off, he’s appointing the former Governor of IOWA (Tom Vilsak) to head the council.  Yes, that’s right – IOWA, a pivotal swing state. All this to win over the “bitter clinger” vote.

Amazing how stupid he thinks fly-over country folks are, that none of us would figure this out?

What we have now is a psychiatist-in-chief;  something none of us want, wanted or voted for:

“You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them,” Obama said [in San Francisco, April 2008.]

“And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are going to regenerate and they have not,” said Obama. “And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

Excuse me Mr.PRESIDENT but you have us all wrong. We cling to our guns because we’re afraid you’re going to come take them away. And we cling to our Bibles and religion because it’s all we have that can always be counted on. Not to mention, it’s constantly under attack from people like you and those marxists you surround yourself with.

It’s too late now for you to try and come court us. Or to try and psychoanalyze us. We really are smarter than  those yo-yos who worship you are.

I loved that calf…

From Vicki @ Frugal Cafe. If this doesn’t bring a tear to your eye – you’re not human.

You handcuff your wife to a stove? New defense: It’s the Bible’s fault.

ATLANTA (AP) – Former President Jimmy Carter says much of the discrimination and abuse suffered by women around the world is attributable to a belief “that women are inferior in the eyes of God.”

Carter said such teachings by “leaders in Christianity, Islam and other religions” allow men to beat their wives and deny women their fundamental rights as human beings.

The former president made the remarks Wednesday at a gathering of human rights activists and religious leaders from more than 20 countries at the Carter Center in Atlanta.

Carter said he doesn’t fault religions for oppressing women, but blames men who selectively interpret the Bible and other scriptures. He suggested there are other, more flexible interpretations.

Carter called mistreatment of women “the most serious and all pervasive and damaging human rights abuse on Earth.”

Is this guy for real? Oh Lord, unfortunately he is.

Sorry to inform the former Dork-in-Chief, but Islam is the religion that abuses and denigrates women. There aren’t a lot of stories of Christians killing their daughters to preserve family honor. Or Christian men cutting the noses off their wives to make them “too ugly for anyone else.”

Big News: Beck really IS leaving Fox

via Drudge.

This talk has been out there for a week and it’s now finalized.  This is big news on every blog in the ethersphere; ours and the commies, both.

I”m sure that Van Jones and his Color of Change is planning a huge rally now and the spin will be that THEY won and pushed Beck out. Too bad too, because I know this was a business decision that Jones had nothing to do with.

It’ll be interesting to see what new plans Beck has and how Fox will fill in the time slot and the obvious void that will occur without Beck. This is going to cost Fox a lot of viewers, in the short term, at least and during his 5pm slot.

I do think that Beck is becoming too evangelical for a news channel – not that evangelical is a bad thing, it’s not. I”m a pretty religious person (something I keep pretty private) and I’ve noticed that Beck is leaning more and more to the ‘end of days’ evangelism that many people agree with and welcome.  He’s given me plenty to think about and plan for.  But I’m not sure that a news channel is the appropriate venue for that kind of thing.

I’ve learned a great deal from Beck and I know that he’s not going to be gone.  We’ll just have to wait and see where he pops up next and what pops up with him.

The Coming of the end – and the 12th Imam. I’ve been waiting to see this:

It will probably be on Glenn Beck today or this week sometime.

We have good reason to be afraid. These people not only believe in the second coming of their Messiah, but they plan to do what they can to speed up his coming, including destroying Israel and Jerusalem. They are willing to die to make it happen.

Stay on long enough and it’s translated into English.

By the way, keep your eyes open near the end for Pelosi, Obama, Bush and others giving the horned hand sign. I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen a picture of any of them doing that — it’s kinda funny if it weren’t so terrifying.

Iranian woman set for execution

Okay, now I’m really pissed off. This morning we read that the UN will be investigating US for human rights violations and tonight I read this at Fox.

What kind of president do we have here who would agree to put this nation  -and Arizona – on this UN review when you consider what’s happening in nations like Iran? What kind of human rights violations occur in this country that compare to stoning a woman, or for that matter, a gay person? Where is the outrage from the bleeding heart left about this poor woman’s impending, state sanctioned  murder?

If you’ve not seen the movie, The Stoning of Soraya M., please do see it. It can be rented at Netflix, among lots of other outlets. This should be required viewing for every friggin liberal in this country and every high school student, too. I had to cover my eyes more than once during this movie. If you think that The Kite Runner was a great view of Islam, then you (and I) were taken for a ride. Until I saw The Stoning of Soraya, and after I’d read The Kite Runner, I had this misconception that Islam might have some redeeming values.

I was misinformed.

These are barbarous people who should not sit at the same table with us. What kind of god or religion sanctions stonings and abuse of women and gays?

What kind of people turn a blind eye to this and keep pointing their fingers at their own countrymen while living in the greatest nation on Earth? We have a president who calls his own citizens enemies while this is occuring almost daily around the world. A president who bows to these barbarians and apologizes for us. A first lady who is more concerned about how many donuts we eat and has  no care in the world for the abuse of young women and gay men. A group of fugly women in NOW who are too busy endorsing misogynistic candidates like Jerry Brown to be bothered with the horrendous deaths of women around the world.

When do we say ENOUGH to all of this?

I’m not sorry for this rant. I’m angry.

Obama’s India dilemma – turban or no

I love this picture. . . whoever he is.

News that President Obama may skip a visit to the Golden Temple, the holy shrine to millions of Sikhs on his upcoming trip to India, is a sign of the confused times in which we find ourselves.

Part of the requirement for entering the Golden Temple — a sprawling and serene complex of polished marble that is the spiritual center of the Sikh religion — is that men must cover their heads. Their head-covering has to include a knot because tying carries a spiritual significance.
President Obama may reportedly skip the visit to avoid covering his head and being confused as “a Muslim”! A recent poll found that 20 percent of Americans still believe that Obama, a Christian, is actually Muslim.

(My Note: I’m not going to link to this story because I don’t want a bunch of leftist trolls coming over here. You can find and read it at the Huffington Post, by Joe Esposito.  And I guess if you listen to NPR, you already know this story. I heard about it over the weekend from a friend who does listen to NPR.)

(CNSNews.com) – Reports that President Obama has decided not to visit a historic Sikh temple during his visit to India next month are sure to upset adherents of one of the world’s largest religions.

President Obama has been invited to visit the world’s biggest democracy by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh – who happens also to be India’s first Sikh prime minister.

Reports from India attribute the White House decision to call off a planned visit to the Golden Temple in Amritsar to concerns that the head covering Obama would be expected to wear at the shrine might revive suspicions in the U.S. that the president is a Muslim.

Ironically, the fact that Sikhs are at times mistaken for Muslims was one of the reasons Sikh leaders in the U.S. welcomed the news that Obama would visit the site.

Read more here. And do read this story, please.

When I was in London a couple years ago, I met a really nice Sikh man who owned a tourist shop. He was more than happy to explain his turban and its religious significance. These folks are nothing like muslims but are often mistaken for them, by Americans.

The religious double standard of liberals – that is, if they even had standards

Just for a moment imagine if this story wasn’t about Catholics but Muslims instead. Or imagine Catholics were as militant as Muslims and their pope issued a command to kill the maker of these videos – which I am not going to link to because I’m not going to aid in increasing his viewership. Imagine if the maker of these youtube videos had to go into hiding, like the girl who started the “Draw Muhammad day” on Facebook.

Recently, Jimmy Kimmel made fun of Christine O’Donnell’s commitment to Biblical teachings regarding lust, sex and marriage. O’Donnell is a Christian and believes in monogamy and fidelity to a spouse. She believes in abstinence.

Why is it okay with the liberals to attack and ridicule Christians but not Muslims? Why is it a cultural imperative to be tolerant of Islam but not Catholicism, Christianity or Judaism?  There is no threat from those groups, that’s why. They aren’t going to take to the streets or stalk and assassinate an offender. No one is going to be waiting in the shadows by Kimmel’s car with a knife to slit his throat and he knows it.

The story I linked to in the first paragraph is appalling, regardless of your religious or non-religious affiliation and if you go to the website, and if the spirit moves you, please sign the petition to get his horrible videos pulled from youtube.

Muslims in America – a double standard fueled by fear

What would be the response by the Hollywood snobs and the Muslim apologists in the country or even just average working Americans, if Pope Benedict called for the murder and beheading of people the Church felt are in opposition its theology?

Imagine the United States Council of Catholic Bishops issuing a its own form of “fatwa” against people who they thought were Muslim terrorists or Islamic heads of state like Iran’s Ahmadinejad. When was the last time the College of Cardinals called for the stoning of homosexuals?

How about the Catholic Church demanding that every classroom provide a holy water font at each doorway, like the foot baths that have been required at federally funded universities and now even, airports?  Institutions of higher learning from NYU to Indiana and financed by tax dollars, are now providing foot baths for Muslim students. The Kansas City airport (again, tax payer funded) has already installed these religious foot fonts in several airport restrooms.

from BareNakedIslam.com

This from Bare Naked Islam in 2009:

Minneapolis Community and Technical College has a policy that “strictly prohibits religious displays.” For example, this past Christmas season a memo from Dianna Cusick, director of legal affairs and President Phil Davis, warned against any public display of holiday cheer: “As we head into the holiday season, all public offices and areas should refrain from displays that may represent to our students, employees or the public that the college is promoting any particular religion.”

Nevertheless, the college is planning to use taxpayer funds to install facilities for Muslim ritual foot-washing. School officials are going on a junket to visit a community college in Illinois to view similar facilities there.

Davis justified the disparate treatment by pointing out the differences between Muslims and those of other faiths. “The foot-washing facilities are not about religion, they are about public safety,” Davis said. “Christians and Jews aren’t going to kill anyone over this issue. Muslims are different. We’ve already received threats saying the college will be bombed if we refuse to build this facility. So, as anyone can see, we’re not promoting the Muslim religion. We’re saving the lives of our students and faculty.”AZ CONSERVATIVE

Yes, he’s right. Christians and Jews don’t threaten destruction when WalMart tells its employees to only say “Happy Holidays” to customers. They aren’t threatening to bomb town hall when the Nativity scene or the Menorah is banned from its lawns. Imagine  the Rev. Billy Graham calling for the death of Larry David (a Jew, by the way) who peed on a picture of Jesus (ala fatwas of cartoonists who drew Muhammad) in one of his more controversial episodes of HBOs “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

Of course, the argument from the left is that these baths are available to anyone of any faith (or none) that want to use them. This is the ACLUs stance.

They also claim that foot baths are a health and safety measure: one student fell in a public bathroom while attempting to wash her feet in the sink, something ALL of us do at least 5 times a day.

Quote of the Day – the Psychoanalyst in Charge

“You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest… it’s not surprising they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.” ~ Barrack Obama
