Conservatives are the left’s scapegoat

The president, the self proclaimed “citizen of the world,” dropped into Denmark for 5 hours, made an I-me-mine speech, then jetsetted out and the left is blaming Bush and conservatives for an Olympic-sized loss?

This is called projection.

I didn’t care if Chicago won this thing or not, although news reports were that many Chicagoans were against it.

But once again, TheOne was told NO by the world and the left can’t accept that it could be his own fault. It couldn’t be that TheOne took for granted that he could just drop in and give a glittering speech and win on his charisma and teleprompter-eloquence. The world is watching him and the world leaders are finding him to be naive and inexperienced – exactly what the right said about him last year during the campaign. So far, he’s not shown that he can step up to the plate and dispell any of those reservations. In fact, his indecision on Afghanistan and his lack of substance on his own healthcare reforms only reinforce those opinions of him. And reports are that his world apology tour didn’t endear him to our allies (think Sarkosy here.)

So TheOne and his staff (Valerie) miscalculated and messed up in Denmark and somehow that translates that conservatives caused this embarrassing Olympic slap down.  We need to get used to this. The left won’t take any responsibility if anything goes south for this president. For the next 3 years, every failure or faultering by this president will be OUR fault.

Dissing the Dalai Lama? That’s kinda like spitting in Mother Theresa’s face.

Tibet: Now Obama loses the Richard Gere vote

by Roger L. Simon/PajamasMedia.com

Has there been a worse president in our lifetime than Barack Obama? Well, that depends on your longevity. But no one I know has lived as long as Andrew Johnson.

Even his enablers-in-chief at the New York Times are getting nervous (Frank Rich?!). Their editors are concerned with the lack of promised transparency. Hint to the editors: Don’t worry about transparency. There’s nothing (of substance) to see. Here’s a short list (I’m missing plenty):

The healthcare plan is an ever-shifting pile of papers from the secretarial pool. Was there ever really a plan? Everything is being done in such a rush it makes the Mad Hatter seem like a slow poke.

The stimulus plan is mostly unspent and what is spent has gone for the most part to cronies. (Sen. Thune says we should use the unspent 330 billion to pay down the debt and he’s probably right.) Moreover, it’s not working and the president seems to have no idea what to do.

Afghanistan — supposedly Obama’s war — is a mess with the president apparently furious at his own general for being honest.

The Olympic fiasco — I won’t even go there.

Democracy movements in Iran and Honduras are dissed in favor of cozying up to dictators. (This is the most disgusting and reactionary to me.)

Israel given the back of the hand.

ACORN, Chicago, etc., etc.

And now (ht: Fred Siesel) even the Dalai Lama gets left out in the cold!

In an attempt to gain favor with China, the United States pressured Tibetan representatives to postpone a meeting between the Dalai Lama and President Obama until after Obama’s summit with his Chinese counterpart, Hu Jintao, scheduled for next month, according to diplomats, government officials and other sources familiar with the talks.

For the first time since 1991, the Tibetan spiritual leader will visit Washington this week and not meet with the president. Since 1991, he has been here 10 times. Most times the meetings have been “drop-in” visits at the White House. The last time he was here, in 2007, however, George W. Bush became the first sitting president to meet with him publicly, at a ceremony at the Capitol in which he awarded the Dalai Lama the Congressional Gold Medal, Congress’s highest civilian award.

Well, that’s it for now. [Are you really sure he’s lost the Richard Gere vote?-ed. No, some toadies will always be toadies.]

Obama’s skewed priorities

A high school honor student is beaten to death in broad daylight in front of dozens of kids and gang memebers and the president has nothing to say. He’s too busy in his failed bid to get the Olympics for Chicago. He and Michelle are too busy wasting tax dollars on another New York date night.

Obama was quick to call out cops in Boston for “acting stupidly” and then back peddle by inviting the 2 involved to the rose garden for a beer in the role as  peace maker.

The president was drinking Bud Light, Biden was drinking Buckler (a nonalcoholic beer), Gates was drinking Samuel Adams Light and Crowley was drinking Blue Moon.

This is important crap, folks. It was important that Obama interject himself in this Gates-Crowley thing.  After all, we have cops “acting stupidly” by doing their jobs and responding to what a good neighbor thought was a B & E in progress and a Harvard elitist “professor” agitating for his 15 minutes of fame by verbally abusing those cops.

Beers all around, boys! Let’s all make nice!

But he’s silent on the horrific murder of Derrion Albert?

Sarcasm ahead: Oh, he’s sending his surrogates to Chicago: AG Eric Holder and Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan. They are going to “have a conversation on gang violence” with other elite educators. I know this is going to solve a lot of problems and soothe the grieving this dead young man’s family is suffering.

Is this finally the wake up call for the black community that their messiah is NOT one of them? Is this finally going to make some of them see that the left is NOT really on their side? The left see these people as a voting bloc, not as individual human beings. And as long as they are poor, disgruntled and angry, they will remain a voting bloc. It’s therefore to the left’s benefit to keep them that way.

They will turn a blind eye to the violence and hatred that’s growing in our schools and communities because it’s to their benefit to have them violent and angry. Another black kid dead just reinforces their cause: the oppression from the white community is the reason for all their problems.

We should all be disgusted and appalled by this murder. Derrion was an innocent young man caught up in a horrible situation. It doesn’t matter what color his skin was. He was someone’s son and grandson and they are now carrying the worst grief there is. And their president doesn’t seem to give a whit about Derrion or them.

Derrion did nothing wrong and by all accounts, was doing many things right.

I have to wonder though, had Derrion been murdered by 4 white kids, would TheOne then had something to say?

Jewels from Levin on Obama, the Olympics and War. Wait… what war?

A big black eye for Obama

Chicago’s out and I sure hope Rio’s the winner in the end! Once again, a world entity has told it’s first citizen, NO!

Does this mean the Olympic committee is racist?

I”m sure that Oprah, Valerie and Michelle will be free to do some furniture shopping in Copenhagen now.

Wasting our $$ and what if Chicago doesn’t win?

Do you know what it costs and what is involved in a presidential/first family trip? Me neither.

But I know it must cost a helluva lot of money. You know, he has to have a cargo plan to fly is limo to wherever he’s going. Reports say that he and Michelle are taking 600 others with them on this Chicago-Olympic pitch trip. And they flew in seperate planes. All the secret service guys. All the assistants to make-up and hair directors for Oprah, Valerie and Michelle.

Geeze.

And I thought we were all suffering and tightening our belts these days… well, all of us but the folks in power.
