Who’s your daddy? The entire ruling class, it seems.

It’s pretty damned patronizing of the ruling class and the president to tell us that we “don’t need to see the photos.” Who are they to decide what we “need” to see and what we don’t?  And as Ann Coulter said, these people who are telling us what we “don’t need to see” are all people who have already seen the photos.

How dare you put yourselves in the position of daddy-ing us? That includes republicans who are falling in lockstep with this thinking, as well.

At least 80% of the American people have been waiting for this day to come and now we are told that we can’t “spike our football.” Does this mean excessive celebration in the end zone (Ground Zero) is unbecoming of Americans?

I’ll gladly take the 10 yard penalty to be assessed at the kick-off.

Stop treating us like children who can’t understand everything from our enormous national debt to the propriety of (an honest to God) head shot.  I think we can take seeing it. After all, nearly 10 years ago we watched planes full of people crash into buildings full of people, many of whom jumped to their deaths and another plane full of heros who downed it in a field rather than allow it to be used as another missile. We’ve been seeing youtube videos of al Qaeda animals beheading Americans numerous times over the last 10 years.

I think we can handle seeing a photo of a dead bin Laden. I think we deserve to excessively celebrate seeing it.

Now show us the damned photo!

Quote of the day – Lauri B. Regan

from American Thinker. H/t to my great friend AFVET:

I do not doubt that the American military killed OBL.  I am, however, disgusted that the White House is offering contradictory stories.  And I am disgusted by the silence that we hear from the media while questioning what in the world is going on.  When presented with pictures of US soldiers abusing Iraqi prisoners at Abu Ghraib, the New York Times and other mainstream publications could not wait to print the pictures (and partake in the demonization of the American military) without regard to the risk posed to soldiers in the field.  In this case however, the White House is holding back on releasing the photographs of bin Laden claiming that the release could be inflammatory.

The Coming of the end – and the 12th Imam. I’ve been waiting to see this:

It will probably be on Glenn Beck today or this week sometime.

We have good reason to be afraid. These people not only believe in the second coming of their Messiah, but they plan to do what they can to speed up his coming, including destroying Israel and Jerusalem. They are willing to die to make it happen.

Stay on long enough and it’s translated into English.

By the way, keep your eyes open near the end for Pelosi, Obama, Bush and others giving the horned hand sign. I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen a picture of any of them doing that — it’s kinda funny if it weren’t so terrifying.

I think it’s time we, as Americans,  find God again. These people are scary serious.

If this doesn’t just knock your socks off, nothing will!

From Ken Blackwell/The American Spectator:

Here’s the best proof that politics, not principle, is guiding the actions of the Obama administration: Nidal Hasan’s arraignment has been held over for three weeks at Fort Hood — until after the midterm elections.

Why does this matter? Because he is being charged with thirteen deaths, not fourteen. One of Nidal Hasan’s victims was pregnant. The Unborn Victims of Violence Act (UVVA) applies wherever the federal government has primary jurisdiction — from the District of Columbia, to national parks, to military installations. It applies to our bases in Afghanistan and to our units and planes operating there. It applies to Fort Hood.

Ft. Hood mass murder

The law is called the Lacy and Conner Peterson Act, even though it would not have applied in the case of that young mother and her unborn son. Their murder was a state criminal matter for California.

The UVVA is also a part of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). So why isn’t Nidal Hasan being charged with the death of an unborn child, too?

Might it be because the Obama administration chooses not to raise this issue in the critical weeks leading up to midterm elections? Could it be because it does not want to further antagonize its liberal base?

Now, remind us, Mr. President: Exactly who is it who behaves irrationally when he is afraid? I think it’s not the American people. Sadly, I think it’s our current leadership.

Mark Steyn on Molly Norris and the loss of the First Amendment

When someone destroys a Bible, U.S. government officials don’t line up to attack him. President Obama bowed lower than a fawning maitre d’ before the King of Saudi Arabia, a man whose regime destroys Bibles as a matter of state policy, and a man whose depraved religious police forces schoolgirls fleeing from a burning building back into the flames to die because they’d committed the sin of trying to escape without wearing their head scarves. If you show a representation of Mohammed, European commissioners and foreign ministers line up to denounce you. If you show a representation of Jesus Christ immersed in your own urine, you get a government grant for producing a widely admired work of art. Likewise, if you write a play about Jesus having gay sex with Judas Iscariot.

. . .

On the advice of the FBI, she’s [Molly Norris] been forced to go into hiding. If you want to measure the decline in western civilization’s sense of self-preservation, go back to Valentine’s Day 1989, get out the Fleet Street reports on the Salman Rushdie fatwa, and read the outrage of his fellow London literati at what was being done to one of the mainstays of the Hampstead dinner-party circuit. Then compare it with the feeble passivity of Molly Norris’ own colleagues at an American cartoonist being forced to abandon her life: “There is no more Molly”? That’s all the gutless pussies of The Seattle Weekly can say? As James Taranto notes in The Wall Street Journal, even much sought-after Ramadan-banquet constitutional scholar Barack Obama is remarkably silent:

Now Molly Norris, an American citizen, is forced into hiding because she exercised her right to free speech. Will President Obama say a word on her behalf? Does he believe in the First Amendment for anyone other than Muslims?

Who knows? Given his highly selective enthusiasms, you can hardly blame a third of Americans for figuring their president must be Muslim. In a way, that’s the least pathetic explanation: The alternative is that he’s just a craven squish. Which is odd considering he is, supposedly, the most powerful man in the world.

Read entire column here.

~~~ooOoo~~~
The non-liberal press, i.e. Mark Steyn (NJR), James Taranto (WSJ) and Diana West seem to be the only journalists questioning this double standard in our society and speaking out on this atrocity visited on Molly Norris.
Liberals or not, thank God, someone is.
Muslim woman kills co-workers in Philadelphia
Isn’t it interesting that in 3rd paragraph from the end of this story, it’s finally revealed that this murderer is a Muslim woman?
This “very spiritual” woman’s religion is buried in the 8th of an 11 paragraph story. This is the duplicitous American media.
Muslims in America – a double standard fueled by fear
What would be the response by the Hollywood snobs and the Muslim apologists in the country or even just average working Americans, if Pope Benedict called for the murder and beheading of people the Church felt are in opposition its theology?
Imagine the United States Council of Catholic Bishops issuing a its own form of “fatwa” against people who they thought were Muslim terrorists or Islamic heads of state like Iran’s Ahmadinejad. When was the last time the College of Cardinals called for the stoning of homosexuals?
How about the Catholic Church demanding that every classroom provide a holy water font at each doorway, like the foot baths that have been required at federally funded universities and now even, airports?  Institutions of higher learning from NYU to Indiana and financed by tax dollars, are now providing foot baths for Muslim students. The Kansas City airport (again, tax payer funded) has already installed these religious foot fonts in several airport restrooms.
from BareNakedIslam.com
This from Bare Naked Islam in 2009:
Minneapolis Community and Technical College has a policy that “strictly prohibits religious displays.” For example, this past Christmas season a memo from Dianna Cusick, director of legal affairs and President Phil Davis, warned against any public display of holiday cheer: “As we head into the holiday season, all public offices and areas should refrain from displays that may represent to our students, employees or the public that the college is promoting any particular religion.”
Nevertheless, the college is planning to use taxpayer funds to install facilities for Muslim ritual foot-washing. School officials are going on a junket to visit a community college in Illinois to view similar facilities there.
Davis justified the disparate treatment by pointing out the differences between Muslims and those of other faiths. “The foot-washing facilities are not about religion, they are about public safety,” Davis said. “Christians and Jews aren’t going to kill anyone over this issue. Muslims are different. We’ve already received threats saying the college will be bombed if we refuse to build this facility. So, as anyone can see, we’re not promoting the Muslim religion. We’re saving the lives of our students and faculty.”AZ CONSERVATIVE
Yes, he’s right. Christians and Jews don’t threaten destruction when WalMart tells its employees to only say “Happy Holidays” to customers. They aren’t threatening to bomb town hall when the Nativity scene or the Menorah is banned from its lawns. Imagine  the Rev. Billy Graham calling for the death of Larry David (a Jew, by the way) who peed on a picture of Jesus (ala fatwas of cartoonists who drew Muhammad) in one of his more controversial episodes of HBOs “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
Of course, the argument from the left is that these baths are available to anyone of any faith (or none) that want to use them. This is the ACLUs stance.
They also claim that foot baths are a health and safety measure: one student fell in a public bathroom while attempting to wash her feet in the sink, something ALL of us do at least 5 times a day.
Obama as Greek Tragedy Part I by Victor David Hanson
“… a final thought: not since 9/11 have so many terrorist plots been uncovered in a single year. (In fact, over one-third of all the efforts to repeat 9/11 have occurred in 2009—just as the United States has made unprecedented efforts to renounce the prior war on terror, to demonize a prior President, to use euphemism, to bow and apologize abroad, to turn war into jurisprudence, and to reach out to the Muslim world. Perhaps our Oedipus [Obama] can determine whether there is a connection?)”
An outstanding read.
Julius Obama Caesar - not exactly a Greek, but as close as I could find on the fly.
This may be the end of the Blame Bush narrative
From another excellent editorial via RedState, from the London Telegraph.
“In his weekly radio address yesterday, President Barack Obama patted himself on the back for having “refocused the fight – bringing to a responsible end the war in Iraq, which had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks”.
He then told people to remember that “our adversaries are those who would attack our country, not our fellow Americans”, before decrying “fear and cynicism” and “partisanship and division” – the code phrases for horrid Republicans used during his 2008 election campaign.”
I don’t believe that people are going to stand for this shrugging responsibility any longer. He may choose to continue using the “I inherited” this or that but it’s worn out and won’t fly with Americans any more. Continuing to claim that “we’re just doing what Bush put in place” is no excuse for lack of attention to the numerous markers we had about the Knickerbomber, long before he boarded that Detroit flight.
“For a man who campaigned denouncing the politicisation of national security under President George W Bush, it is worth noting how intensely political Obama’s treatment of what might henceforth be known as Underpantsgate has been.
His White House recognised its political vulnerability more readily than it comprehended the level of danger faced by Americans.”
“In Hawaii, where Obama was holidaying, Gibbs’s deputy Bill Burton told the press that “we are winding down a war in Iraq that took our eye off of the terrorists that attacked us” and that Obama was reviewing “procedures that have been in place the last several years” (i.e. Bush instituted them). He added, without apparent irony, that “the President refuses to play politics with these issues”.”
Keep this up – and I hope they do – because it promises only a one term nightmare for America.
