Read it and weep, Media Matters – Fox just keeps on winning!

From Mediaite.com

MSNBC returned to its perch in second place behind Fox News for the second quarter of 2011, beating CNN among the key group of viewers 25-54 in prime time. MSNBC averaged 273,000 viewers 25-54 in prime, compared to CNN’s 234,000. Fox News easily held on to its ranking as the number one network in cable news in the period, with 413,000 viewers 25-54 in prime. Fox’s win was made easy by having all of the top five cable news programs (viewers 25-54): O’Reilly Factor (636,000 viewers), Hannity (501,000), Glenn Beck (413,000), On the Record (398,000) and the O’Reilly repeat at 11 p.m. (384,000).

Overall, Fox News has had 38 consecutive quarterly wins in terms of total viewers, and was strong enough to rank fourth among all cable channels. MSNBC, by comparison, ranked 26th and CNN placed 28th.

The nerdiest kid in your class: Anthony Weiner

Remember the nerdiest kid you ever knew in high school? He’s the one who never could get a date and people (girls especially) with compassionate hearts were always nice to him to make up for the bullies who tormented on him.  He’s the one who always got picked last for teams in PE class. He worked the concession stand at prom because he had no date and he couldn’t dance for crap, anyway.  He was president of the science club. He was scrawny, little and awkward. He did well academically, but he just never fit in with anyone. Teachers loved him. Coaches didn’t know he existed. He’s a fast talker who thinks he’s really witty, when he’s just really overcompensating for his lack of popularity.

In a nutshell, he is Richard Norvik (from Peggy Sue Got Married.)

What is the greatest aphrodisiac in the world?

Power, and money comes with power.

So here we have this scrawny, nerdy Anthony Weiner who never fit in with this allegedly big twitter following of pretty young ladies. It’s his revenge from his high school days, his vindication that he’s not such a goofy kid, after all. His lingering feelings of teenage inadequacy are soothed by all the pretty girls who follow him on twitter and a few young interns in congress who hang on his every word.

He’s reliving his high school years by (allegedly) tweeting what he thinks is a sexy picture of himself to some young college student.

Read this really enlightening story from the New Republic (well known for its leftwing bent) about the lecherous congressmen we elect and Weiner is one of the stars of the article.

CNN finishes in last place on election night

Here’s the ratings breakdown from last night:

FNC: 4,043,000 in total viewers (1,130,000 in A25-54)

MSNBC: 974,000 in total viewers (308,000 in A25-54)

HLN: 842,000 in total viewers (341,000 in A25-54)

CNN: 826,000 in total viewers (227,000 in A25-54)

FNC topped MSNBC, HLN and CNN combined in total viewers and in the demo. HLN edged MSNBC in the demo as well during prime time. We’ll have more numbers coming.

In what appears to be a retreat and regroup by the WH, Axelrod  gave Major over 10 minutes of face time on Fox. I guess the WH got the message that this feud was only hurting them.
