Obama’s strong arm tactics against business

I can’t stop kicking myself for continuing to be astounded by this regime.

This man is either entirely tone deaf to the American people or he has balls of titanium.

He is poised to sign an order that will require all businesses who want to contract with the federal government to disclose their political donations and those of their officers – for the last 2 years and going forward. This is an effort to prevent the GOP from making any money for the next election. He’s already bragging that he will raise $1billion which is nothing more than another form of intimidation. But he plans to make sure that the Republicans are not able to raise any money. I suppose he thinks that he can’t beat a good Republican candidate unless he does whatever he can to dry up their donations and scare them into thinking that no one can beat his $1billion campaign.

And as the Wall Street Journal says, by the same token, Obama wants bipartisan support for other things this coming year.

If he follows through with this disclosure plan, I doubt that he will get it. Even that milquetoast RHINO Susan Collins is furious with his plans: The administration’s argument that this is about disclosure is “a fraud,” she declares. The very notion “offends me deeply.”

And the hits just keep on comin’….

Well. . . I have no headline for this kinda crap. And it’s just gonna get uglier.

From the caption at YouTube:

A Republican staffer (and Iraq War vet) has hot coffee poured down his back by a Strickland supporter while trying to videotape Gov. Strickland’s remarks at a campaign event. The assailant later returns to make an obscene gesture. Authorities are trying to identify the man in this video. If you can assist, contact the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office at (740) 355-8245.

Harry Reid holding our troops hostage

from brokencountry.com

In order for our troops to get the funding for body armor and ammunition and stuff they need, Republicans will have to vote for the immigration bill that Reid has attached to the Defense bill at the 11th hour.  This immigration bill, dubbed the DREAM Act, gives a pathway to citizenship for minor illegal aliens. The vote for this will be next Tuesday.

If the GOP doesn’t vote in favor of this, they are leaving our troops stranded and unarmed. If they vote for it, they are moving big steps toward amnesty for illegals.

This is the Harry Way. This is the reason he has to go. This is what the Republicans and Angle have to jump on during this campaign. Reid has got to be tossed out.

Nothing is as unpatriotic and unAmerican as ransoming our troops in order to pass his illegal immigration legislation. The purpose of this is to get the Hispanic votes in Nevada. This is the lowest move any senator could make.

Rep. Tom Price (R-GA) enters bill to prevent lame duck session

The bill, entered today, will prevent the House from meeting between election day and the first day of the new 112th session of Congress in January.

The bill would prevent a lame duck session from pushing through stuff like crap-n-tax and card check.

The GOP is trying to prevent the House from meeting during the lame duck and do further damage to the nation. It’s going to be a strictly partisan vote and won’t stand a chance of passing.

What democrat in his right mind would vote to relinquish power back  to the people where it rightly belongs? Their track history has been to vote in opposition to everything their constituents have been telling them. They have not listened to the American people yet, why should that change now?

Although it’s not going to pass, it will inflict further damage on the progressive democrats at the polls this November. Those representatives are now on record – once again – as voting contrary to what the people want.

The authentic non-elitists and JournoList ‘journalists’

After reading these JournoList emails, no reporter can ever say, with any credibility, that Obama has been the victim of bad press. They’ve done everything they could do to assure that he looks good all the time. And if we ever thought these so-called reporters and pundits, were sensitive to us, the average American, this should knock some sense into us:

Adam Serwer on Palin and stupid Americans: But she’s so AUTHENTIC! Authentic non-elitist Americans don’t worry about this stuff, they worry about how to teach their kids how to shoot m-16s and use withdrawal as birth control.

 Kathleen Geier, also on Palin and stupid Americans: I’m unsure. Her ignorance is alarming, and I’d like to think it would make voters worry about whether she’s really up to the job.

On the other hand, the GOP obviously takes great pride in being the stupid party. And hey — it’s worked!

As Dan Gainor says today in his column, we are not of the same world as the “reporters” of JournoList. We are the unwashed, the clingers of God and guns, the stupid who believe in ‘myths’ like the Bible and Christian values, who are simply too weird, too backward for those elitists to understand.
It’s an old story, but the explanations are the same. “We are not of your world,” journalists whine as they miss the news of the day. The elusive concerns of God, country, Constitution and family are too unusual, too much like fairy tales for modern journalists to acknowledge.
~~~ooOoo~~~
This morning the Patriot Post, highlighting James De Long of the American Enterprise Institue,   said that any employer of these “reporters” should not only be offended and outraged at the attempts to use their publications to promote their progressive agenda, but should fire the whole lot of them.
The real problem with JournoList is that much of it consisted of exchanges among people who worked for institutions about how to best hijack their employers for the cause of Progressivism. Thus, the J-List discussion revealed yesterday in the Daily Caller was about how the group could get their media organizations to play down the Reverend Wright affair and help elect Barack Obama.
Were I an editor of one of these institutions, I would instantly fire any employee who participated in this gross violation of his/her duty. For example, the J-List included Washington Post reporters, and the idea that the paper has been turned into a propaganda organ is a big reason it is bleeding readers and influence.
But of course, this is all provided that the publications these “reporters” work for want to appear unbiased and fair in their reporting. The jury’s still out on that.
Okay, we get it already. WE ARE RACISTS and TERRORISTS for disagreeing.
Julian Bond
by Tonia Moxley
RADFORD — In a speech Wednesday, NAACP Chairman Julian Bond called on defenders of civil rights to support the country’s first black president as he faces what is expected to be tough second year in office.
Bond’s remarks at Radford University’s fourth annual celebration of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday came a day after the Democratic Party lost the late Ted Kennedy’s Massachusetts Senate seat to Republican Scott Brown, and with it, the party’s filibuster-proof majority.
The election puts Obama’s health care overhaul in jeopardy and has caused speculation that public opinion may be turning against the president.
While “black faces in high places” give reason for hope, Bond, the 70-year-old founder of the storied Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, argued that “racism is alive and well for every nonwhite American, including the president.”
Obama’s historic election has ironically caused complacency among some civil rights supporters, who see it is a sign that racism in America is dead.
But that same election has energized “the Taliban wing” of the Republican Party, Bond said, from anti-government groups such as the “birthers,” who challenge Obama’s citizenship, to “tea party” members who call for the dismantling of much of the federal government.
Bond cited a report from the Southern Poverty Law Center that found “the number of hate groups operating in the United States continued to rise in 2008 and has grown by 54 percent since 2000 — an increase fueled last year by immigration fears, a failing economy and the successful campaign of Barack Obama.”
While the recession has hurt all Americans, blacks still suffer more than their white counterparts. Today the unemployment rate for blacks stands at 15.7 percent, compared with 9.5 percent among whites, Bond said.
Infant mortality and murder rates are up in black communities across the country, Bond said. Black homeownership is declining rapidly, and with it, the wealth of the black middle class.
“This didn’t happen by accident,” Bond said.
He accused mortgage lenders of targeting black neighborhoods with high-interest subprime loans and pointed to discrimination suits recently filed by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People against some of the country’s largest banking firms. Bond has led the NAACP for 11 years.
Obama “is paying a high price today for not solving in one year the problems it took eight years to create,” Bond said. “He needs time and support.”
Bond drew parallels between the civil rights movement and Obama’s battles for reform. He called for a return to the values of the struggle against segregation: “Litigate. Organize. Mobilize. Coalition,” Bond said.
“King did not march alone.”
