This picture was taken at Ohio State University on the eve of the midterm elections. But you’d never know who they are stumping for by the photo, unless you guess right and they are stumping for themselves.  The 2008  “Change We Can Believe In” signs have been replaced with the new slogan “Moving America Forward,” as opposed to “Put the car in ‘D’ for drive [forward] ; not ‘R’ for reverse.”  Note the Obama brand in the “Vote 2010” posters. Nowhere do you see the new and dynamically challenged democrat logo:

If you were in that OSU arena, you’d have no idea that Ted Strickland was running for governor on the Democrat ticket.  In fact, you’d have no idea (if you were from Mars) that this was even a Democrat rally. Everywhere Obama went during these midterms, the rooms were full of team Obama, brand Obama, party Obama signs.  And I mean everywhere. This crowd phenom struck me early on, during the seemingly endless clips of TheOne stumping between Ohio and other vulnerable states. The entire rooms were full of Obama signs.

This election was about rousing his grassroots for the big one – 2012.

His name may not be on any ballot but he’s not about to let anyone forget that it’s all about HIM, all the time. He’s doing what he does best: campaign. He never really stopped after the ’08 election and he’s going to be kicking it up into high gear after the holidays.  You will see so nothing but those “Moving America Forward” and “Vote – Obama logo – 2012” signs for the next 2 years.

2010 was just his warm-up act.

The authentic non-elitists and JournoList ‘journalists’

After reading these JournoList emails, no reporter can ever say, with any credibility, that Obama has been the victim of bad press. They’ve done everything they could do to assure that he looks good all the time. And if we ever thought these so-called reporters and pundits, were sensitive to us, the average American, this should knock some sense into us:

Adam Serwer on Palin and stupid Americans: But she’s so AUTHENTIC! Authentic non-elitist Americans don’t worry about this stuff, they worry about how to teach their kids how to shoot m-16s and use withdrawal as birth control.

 Kathleen Geier, also on Palin and stupid Americans: I’m unsure. Her ignorance is alarming, and I’d like to think it would make voters worry about whether she’s really up to the job.

On the other hand, the GOP obviously takes great pride in being the stupid party. And hey — it’s worked!

As Dan Gainor says today in his column, we are not of the same world as the “reporters” of JournoList. We are the unwashed, the clingers of God and guns, the stupid who believe in ‘myths’ like the Bible and Christian values, who are simply too weird, too backward for those elitists to understand.

It’s an old story, but the explanations are the same. “We are not of your world,” journalists whine as they miss the news of the day. The elusive concerns of God, country, Constitution and family are too unusual, too much like fairy tales for modern journalists to acknowledge.

This morning the Patriot Post, highlighting James De Long of the American Enterprise Institue,   said that any employer of these “reporters” should not only be offended and outraged at the attempts to use their publications to promote their progressive agenda, but should fire the whole lot of them.

The real problem with JournoList is that much of it consisted of exchanges among people who worked for institutions about how to best hijack their employers for the cause of Progressivism. Thus, the J-List discussion revealed yesterday in the Daily Caller was about how the group could get their media organizations to play down the Reverend Wright affair and help elect Barack Obama.

Were I an editor of one of these institutions, I would instantly fire any employee who participated in this gross violation of his/her duty. For example, the J-List included Washington Post reporters, and the idea that the paper has been turned into a propaganda organ is a big reason it is bleeding readers and influence.

But of course, this is all provided that the publications these “reporters” work for want to appear unbiased and fair in their reporting. The jury’s still out on that.

Schlafly: Democrats are the party of death

Non-affiliated voter numbers rising

“… the number of Republicans in the country is essentially no different today than it was in November 2008 when Barack Obama was elected president. The change since Obama’s election is that the number of Democrats has fallen by six percentage points and the number of voters not affiliated with either major party has grown by six. The number of adults not affiliated with either party is currently at 30.6%, up from 24.7% in November 2008.”

I believe this is what we will see leading up to the ’10 election – more voters identifying as Independents. Sensible democrats will see that their party has been hijacked by marxists and they will leave the party. They may not join the GOP but they will not want to be part of what their party has become, thanks to Obama.

Anything will be better than the Marxist (democrat) controlled government we now have. But we have to be careful of a third party launch. Historically, when that happens it only benefits the democrats.  There are close to 11 democrat House members who are not going to run again. That opens the door for a third party candidate but it also opens the door for the GOP to win over independent voters.

That’s the task the GOP has to successfully accomplish. They have to prove to the American people that they are not the same old party of spend, spend and borrow.

Obama’s stealthy coup

I’ve said this before but I think Obama’s czar thing is an end run around congress and an attempt to shift all power to the executive branch. Roger Simon thinks so too and he puts it in much better words and perspective than I have.

Obama is appointing all these people to policy positions that we know nothing about. Congress has no idea who’s in charge of what and who these people are. And at a time when we have almost 10% unemployment, Obama keeps filling the executive branch with more employees, growing government, paid for by our tax dollars: our tax dollars and they are not answerable to anyone but Obama.  None of these guys are accountable to you or me but we are paying their wages.

It’s just now starting to concern congress and it’s about time. From Rep. Mike Pence of Indiana: “The president should suspend any future appointment of so called czars while the administration and the Congress carefully examines the background and qualifications of the more than 30 individuals who’ve been appointed to these czar positions,” said Pence, speaking to reporters. “And the Congress ought to initiate a thorough inquiry into the constitutionality of this practice which has spanned Republican and Democrat administrations.”

While I thank Pence for bringing it to the attention of the people and congress, “the president should suspend” is pretty mild language.  No, Congressman Pence, the president MUST suspend these appointments until congress and the people know who and what Obama has in mind with these czars.

I’m afraid it will end with that: concern with no action from congress. Congress can’t do much because it’s packed with Democrats. They aren’t going to challenge Obama and remember, they won. They don’t have to do anything that conservatives, the American people or the Republicans in congress want done. Can this be constitutionally challenged? Not for long because he’s planning to load the SCOTUS with progressive, policy-setting judges. He’s on that path already with the recent supreme court appointment.

The LameStream Media isn’t at all concerned. They aren’t asleep at the wheel, they are drunk with Obama Kool-Aid. Unless Fox News takes up this topic and pounds the dangers of it home, no one will realize the dangers in these czar-ships.

The point of these czars is to set policy and regulations that congress has nothing to do with and nothing to say about and by extension, you and me.  Just as we have been making great moves against Obamacare, we have got to make noise about this.
