This isn’t Camelot or the court of the Sun King

Reading The American Spectator today, Norman Podhoertz in the Wall Street Journal and Nile Gardiner of the UK Telegraph, reminded me of Evan Thomas (grandson of that loser but perennial socialist presidential candidate, Norman Thomas) declaring to Chris “tingly leg” Matthews in 2009 that “Obama is sorta god.”

(As an aside, Chris really should have this tingly leg thing checked out. It could be neuropathy caused by undiagnosed diabetes or something and maybe shove himself away from those jelly doughnuts, just in case it is. A weekly workout in the MSNBC gym wouldn’t hurt him, either. His god-dess Michelle will be the first to tell him, and the rest of us, that obesity is the number 1 cause of diabetes.)

But I digress and that’s a whole other blog.

Those were the days, weren’t they? Obama on the cover of every “news” magazine in the grocery store checkout line with the celestial halo around him, head upturned and nose in the air; the frown of determination and decisiveness across his face.

Under the spell of the messiah on Rolling Stone

Yes, Evan, he really was above us – on a ledge of your making. And every journalist in the nation, nay world, was all too quick and willing to acquiesce to their new found god Obama. His was the soaring rhetoric that was going to heal the world:

In the American Spectator, George Neumayr relates that “Obama loomed even larger than Lincoln. He was a “Lightworker,” as San Francisco Chronicle columnist Mark Morford put it in 2008, “that rare kind of attuned being who has the ability to lead us not merely to new foreign policies or health care plans or whatnot, but who can actually help usher in a new way of being on the planet, of relating and connecting and engaging with this bizarre earthly experiment.” [A bizarre earthly experiment? Does anyone really talk like this? Maybe if you were in a 70’s consciousness raising group, or something…]

Now that the Lightworker has fallen to earth and the glorious new way of being on the planet turns out to be a lowered credit rating, some of his prominent supporters have fallen silent or resentful. Heady Lincoln comparisons have given way to Carter comparisons, sotto voce: “We are watching him turn into Jimmy Carter right before our eyes,” an anonymous Democratic Senator said to New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd.

Yep, well it’s a long, hard fall when you’re up “above the world” looking down.  It’s an even harder fall when you start to believe all the mythology about yourself.

The new Emperial president.

There is a disturbing let them eat cake mentality projected by the Obama White House … No US presidency in modern times has been more elitist or out of touch than the present one, which exudes the kind of condescending left-wing snobbery that is normally the preserve of an ivory tower common room. President Obama looks increasingly aloof and out of sync with the American people, three quarters of whom now believe the country is heading down the wrong track – including a staggering 58 percent of Democrats, according to Rasmussen. Nile Gardiner/UK Telegraph

Norman Podhoretz says that his “own answer to the question, “What Happened to Obama?” is that nothing happened to him. He is still the same anti-American leftist he was before becoming our president, and it is this rather than inexperience or incompetence or weakness or stupidity that accounts for the richly deserved failure both at home and abroad of the policies stemming from that reprehensible cast of mind.”

Fey says Palin impersonations has not helped 30 Rock

Here’s proof that the television industry does not care about ratings or what the audience wants to see: 30 Rock was renewed for a 6th season and has won many Emmy Awards while it’s ratings remain low. But according to Fox 411 it receives “rave reviews from critics.”

Tina Fey, who co-stars with fellow left wing comrade Alec Baldwin on this hardly-watched program, says in her new book – Bossypants –  that doing Palin ‘gags’ has likely hurt the show. She says that she and Alec are viewed by “50%” of America as “pinko commie monsters.”  I’d say yes, but I’d also say that the percentage is higher than that.

She also acknowledges that they are both polarizing figures in American entertainment.

And yet, the show with low ratings remains on the air because “critics rave” about it.

These guys who run the networks and the critics who write about the shows, don’t care about what YOU want to watch. They only care about what they WANT you to watch.

And as a disclaimer: I’ve never seen this show so have no idea if it’s any good or not.

It’s getting too late to jump ship

This is a must read.

According to that article, China owns 95% (other places I’ve read 97%, but who’s counting?) of rare earth metals and has bought up another 11% in the last year, probably in Africa.

Rare metals: cell phones, flat screen tv’s, computers, the Chevy Volt.

Ah, the Chevy Volt, with the $10,000 battery. Check that out and prove me wrong.

Soon it will be too late to jump the sinking ship of state.

And Obama wined and dined this dictator like he’s an ally. Oh wait – I guess he is now that we’ve tossed Britain and Israel off the boat.  But they should really consider themselves lucky to be off the USS Sinking America.

The training ground for community organizers – Midwest Academy

The Midwest Academy in Chicago is the institute for training organizers in unions and communities. Amazingly, I can’t find a photo of this “academy” anywhere on the web. Their address is a floor in a Chicago building.

Several of it’s board of directors are connected to SEIU and AFSCME (American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees.)

A quick read of their board page and the connections these avowed progressives have with the current Obama regime and his supporters is pretty interesting:

For example, Jackie Kendall was part of the team that developed and delivered the first Camp Obama trainings for volunteers going to Iowa the summer of 2007 through the Iowa Caucuses.

Jacky Grimshaw was a member of the Energy and Transportation Task Force of the President’s Council on Sustainable Development and has been a longtime activist for social justice.

Cathy Hurwit currently serves as chief of staff to Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), where she also has responsibility for universal health care, senior and labor issues.  Prior to joining Rep. Schakowsky’s staff in January 1999, she was a legislative affairs specialist at the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

Alicia Ybarra became part of the 1996 electoral political action drive of the Service Employee International Union member NY local 1199.  She has also worked with Unite For Dignity and Jobs with Justice in Miami, Florida organizing and training Latino and Haitian immigrants.  Alicia is currently working as the Training Director of SEIU International.

Don’t you love these names: Jobs for Justice and Unite for Dignity. Isn’t it interesting that they are working to organize Haitian and Latino immigrants – future democrat progressive voters?

They claim to have trained over 25,000 community organizers (most famous of whom is Andy Stern) since their creation in 1973, by co-founders Paul and Heather Booth. Paul Booth was a member of the SDS. It’s funded by The Woods Charitable Trust and Open Society Institute (George Soros.)  Obama and Bill Ayers both sat on the board of The Woods Charitable Trust. And if you listen to NPR or watch PBS, you will recognize the  John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.

As I’ve been reading in Radical-in-Chief by Stanley Kurtz, the same names all seem to keep showing up in one connection after another.

Quote of the day from an “American Treasure”?

“You’ve never seen a Columbine done by a black child. Never,” [Van] Jones said. “They always say, ‘We can’t believe it happened here. We can’t believe it’s these suburban white kids.’ It’s only them!” he said. “Now, a black kid might shoot another black kid. He’s not going to shoot up the whole school.”

Van Jones: the face of American communism

Where was Van Jones, Al Sharpton and TheOne when Derrion Albert was beaten to death by other black kids? All he was doing was walking home from school. Arnie Duncan showed up with of few of these loud mouths and made a big show of caring for a couple days.

Where are they now? What did their little pony show go after that?

The NAACP will be awarding Jones some great image award. He’s being courted all over the country by democrats and leftists to speak at this college and that private school. Kirsten Gillibrand (Senator NY) will be sitting in on a conference with him next month.

He’s become a mega star to the black community and apparently to the democrat party.

Do the mainstream democrats really want to align themselves with a self avowed communist? Is that the direction that they want their party to go?  Do they want to be viewed as de facto communists?

A Star Studded Line-up of Useful Idiots

In political jargon, the term useful idiot was used to describe Soviet sympathizers in western countries and the attitude of the Soviet government towards them. The implication was that though the person in question naïvely thought themselves an ally of the Soviets or other Communists, they were actually held in contempt by them, and being cynically used. This could go on forever: Danny Glover, Demi Moore, Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, Alec Baldwin, George Clooney, Rosie O’Donnell… the list of idiots is never-ending. And these people are too stupid to see when they are being manipulated by the likes of Chavez and Castro and dare I say it – but since Van Jones has, I guess it’s all okay now – BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA! Worst of all, we’ve made them rich idiots! Or elected them to the presidency.

But hands down the queen of ugly and idiots and ugly idiots is:

Olberman wants all the dirt on Beck

Keith Olberman

H/T to Vicki at Frugal Cafe Blog.

I copied and pasted this because no, I am not going to link anyone to DailyKos to read this:

Find everything you can about Glenn Beck,  Stu Burguiere, and Roger Ailes ….

Tuesday we will expand this to the television audience and have a dedicated email address to accept leads, tips, contacts, on Beck, his radio producer Burguiere, and the chief of his tv enablers, Ailes (even though Ailes’ power was desperately undercut when he failed to pull off his phony “truce” push).

This becomes necessary after this in order to prove various cliches about goose and gander, and to remind everybody to walk softly and carry a big popsicle, and most particularly to save this nation from the Oligarhy of The Stupid.

I keep wondering if somewhere somebody named Ollie Garhey thinks he’s in charge now. Or, even more entertainingly and societally satisfying, if somebody named Ali Garhi does.

Despite the worn-out snark above, I am in earnest here.

Oh please. Unbelievable that because Glenn Beck might be “going after” Cass Sunstein next, Olberman is going to make Beck a target? Can Olberman be more transparent in his allegiance to the Obama administration and all his minions? Keith’s starstruck love-from-afar affair with Obama is almost kinky. Or borders on sick. What was it you said about those psychiatrists preparing to write out prescriptions, Keith? I think maybe you’re suffering from a little obsession, yourself.

Now to be serious, nothing that Beck said about the art work on New York City landmarks was incorrect and even Olberman didn’t dispute that. He mocked and ridiculed Beck but he didn’t dispute anything Beck pointed out.

Diego Rivera was a communist. That’s a fact. His mural for Rockefeller, Man at the Crossroads, was a communist statement, another fact. The mural is full of lots of communist symbols and faces, as Beck pointed out. Trotsky’s face was in it, as well as Lenin’s. This was Diego’s vision of communism versus capitalism. The subjects on the right are all communist icons and represent the communist vision of the future. By contrast, the left side of the mural represents the capitalist elite, the Wall Street society. To Diego, the left of the mural represented the evil, dark side of humanity (capitalism) while the right with the face of Lenin, represents the communist ideal of social justice.

I studied the guy in college.

I don’t remember ever hearing or reading anywhere that Rockefeller was a communist however, and Beck does infer that in his show.

So anyway, what this all boils down to is Olberman is going after Beck, et al because Beck was instrumental in the, likely forced, resignation of a communist from the Obama administration. No one at MSNBC or anyother news outlet cared or wanted to besmirch the image of their messiah and they were eclipsed by some internet bloggers, Glenn Beck and Fox News. The Keith Olberman types just can’t stand that they are now being shown for the lazy, hangers-on to the Great One that they are.

I mean seriously, Olberman is so lazy, he’s enlisting DailyKos readers to dig up dirt on Beck, Ailes and Burguiere.  He won’t even do his own dirty work, if there IS any dirty work to be done. I’d be surprised if they find anything noteworthy about any of those men.

But this is all so pathetic.

It’s hell when the curtain is pulled back and you are shown for what you really are: a bunch of pathetic Obama groupies.
