God will punish us if we ever forget the innocent people in these planes and buildings.
Two years ago, TheOne signed into law a remaking of this day into a National Day of Service. 3000 people died and we are supposed to recognize this as a day of service? Is that some kind of sick joke?
His plan was to “erase this day from our psyche” and remake it into something that makes no sense to Americans who need to grieve, who need to remember. It was just one of the many despicable things, but probably the most despicable, that this man has done since he took over the WH.
Now, today we have Obama’s cheerleader in chief, Paul Krugman in the NYT say that 9/11 has become “an occassion for [national] shame.”
What happened after 9/11 — and I think even people on the right know this, whether they admit it or not — was deeply shameful. T[h]e atrocity should have been a unifying event, but instead it became a wedge issue. Fake heroes like Bernie Kerik, Rudy Giuliani, and, yes, George W. Bush raced to cash in on the horror. And then the attack was used to justify an unrelated war the neocons wanted to fight, for all the wrong reasons.
Shame on him. Shame on his president.
This day will forever be a day of mourning for Americans, no matter what they try to do or what they say about it.
We will never forget.

It would be good to read or reread the American Spectator column by Matthew Vadum in 2009. I linked to it above. This is a walk down memory lane from only 2 years ago and it was shades of things to come from this WH, as well.
After the riots and looting we’ve seen in London of late, I find this pretty astounding. The story was featured on Cam & Company tonight.
There are going to be 125,000 school kids getting free tickets to go to the 2012 London Olympics but they will not be allowed to watch the shooting events. Not even shooting practice for you, kiddies.
Danny Bryan, founder of Communities Against Gun and Knife Crime said: “I agree with Boris [the mayor of London]. It is good kids should enjoy the Games but there’s no way we should glorify guns.”
So with that argument, are they glorifying the javelin, the shot or the discus? Any of those can be lethal weapons and all are Olympic events. For cryin’ out loud, you could beat someone over the head with a hurdle or a block, for that matter.
What do they think they are protecting these kids from? It’s okay to see Londoners break windows, steal flat screen tv’s and throw rocks at the unarmed police but not okay to watch people shoot at targets. And it goes without saying, but I’ll say it anyway – these kids have seen much worse on tv, in video games and in movies. They have seen much worse “glorifying guns” than they can ever absorb at an Olympic shooting event.
After the looting and riots we have just seen in London, how do these ‘do-gooders-doin’-stupid’ justify this – – seriously?
You know, I love the Brits but sometimes they say and do things that just make no sense.
The next time you’re in the mall or on the subway, stay alert. The Jerusalem Post is reporting that our intelligence and security agencies are concerned over the rising Al-Qaeda quest in Yemen for castor beans to make ricin. (I can direct them to the beach at Santa Barbara for castor plants – they grow wild all over the place along the beach there. Beautiful plants that produce deadly seeds.)
It said the apparent intent was to pack the poison around small explosives that could be exploded to disperse the ricin, a white powdery substance so deadly that a speck can kill if inhaled or taken into the bloodstream.
The [NY] Times said the apparent intent was to detonate the explosives in enclosed spaces like a shopping mall or airport.
"The WTC cross has become a Christian icon," said Dave Silverman, president of the atheist group. "It has been blessed by so-called holy men and presented as a reminder that their god, who couldn't be bothered to stop the Muslim terrorists or prevent 3,000 people from being killed in his name, cared only enough to bestow upon us some rubble that resembles a cross. It's a truly ridiculous assertion." from CNN. (Thanks to my friend in GA for sending to me!)
Doubtless some politically correct soul at ICE or in the State Department felt that the U.S. needed to show impartiality in making up its list and include non-Muslim countries. What better rebuttal to those who would claim that the ICE is profiling Muslims than to say that Israel is also on the list?
I keep saying this: if Obama really wants to be re-elected, he sure has a strange way of going about it.
Please share with your Jewish friends, especially those who voted for him before.
I’m a closet Trekkie without the elf ears or phaser. I don’t attend those goofy conventions but I love Star Trek and have since I was a kid. A few times a year when I can’t sleep, I have a ST marathon (I have all the DVDs. And for the original series I go to FirstOnMars.com or hulu.com and watch on my computer.)
I like the original series and the Next Generation – don’t watch the newer incarnations like DeepSpace 9. As far as I’m concerned, no one can be better Enterprise captains than William Shatner or Patrick Stewart.
Live long and prosper with a 2 state solution - Mr.Spock
Nimoy is advocating splitting Jerusalem. Making it the capitol of both Israel and the Palestinians, in addition to land swaps. What land is going to be swapped? If the Palestinians have control of the holy sites that are now in the hands of the Jews, will they remain open to all? I doubt it and so does Andrew Klavan:
In his letter, Nimoy sites the episode of ST called Let this be your last battlefield (Season 3, episode 15.) Two aliens are transported on board the Enterprise who have been in mortal combat for thousands of centuries. If you get a chance to watch the episode, it’s an obvious portrayal of the race issues in America in the ’60’s.
Star Trek - Let this be your last battlefield
Both men are half black and half white and the only difference is that white is on the left of one and on the right of the other. The dialog is Oppressor vs Oppressed, bad guy/good guy and guess who’s the oppressive bad guy? The one (Frank Gorshin) who represents the white American male. He’s white on his right. Get it? (As a side note, this is the television Primetime Propaganda that Ben Shapiro writes about in his new book.)
So Nimoy thinks that a lesson can be learned from this episode of centuries old conflict and puts it in the context of the 2 state solution in Israel. I’m not really seeing a connection here. Israel has taken a dry desert and turned it green. It’s created a nation that is the most productive and democratic in the entire region – a nation that is open to anyone and just to all, including women and gays, unlike it’s Muslim neighbors. It has never enslaved Palestinians (as the ST episode posits about Black Americans.) It has never religiously oppressed them, as their Muslim neighbors do to Christians and Jews.
The ST episode and the letter Nimoy has written suggests and encourages a form a reparation for the oppressed (Black Americans in the 60’s and now Palestinians.) This is not only unrealistic (I mean, after all it was just tv!) but dangerous to the Jewish state. How will Israel be more prosperous, more safe with the Palestinians owning half of Jerusalem and swaths of the country? These are people who have sworn their intent is to destroy Israel.
And why do the Israelis owe reparations to the Palestinians? They never enslaved or stole this land from anyone. It was a UN charter that granted this land to them. Why have the other Muslim nations not absorbed the Palestinians into their nations but instead expect the Israelis to do so?
A 2 state solution will not work. It will empower the Palestinians to attack the Jews and to take more and more if they can get away with it. It’s their stated goal to eradicate the Jewish state and giving them more of a toehold by donating half of the holiest of cities, Jerusalem to them, will only encourage them on their dastardly course.
My message to Mr.Spock is logical: In television, conflicts that have simmered for centuries are routinely solved in less than 50 minutes. Not so in real life.
~~ooOoo~~
By the way, if you’re not a trekkie you probably don’t get the reference in the title of this blog, to another ST episode: Spock’s Brain. In that episode, Spocks brain is surgically removed by another alien invader, much prettier than Frank Gorshin, and he’s kept alive by the gifts of Dr. “Bones” McCoy. (insert smiley face emoticon here, please.)
Come on, ask me anything Star Trek — I got an answer for it!
“Frankly, a week ago Sunday, in the Situation Room, we all agreed that we would not release any operational details from the effort to take out bin Laden. That all fell apart on Monday, the next day” [Secretary of Defense Robert Gates said.]
No information was going to be released and then it all went to hell, did it? And the elite professionals in our armed services have the WH to thank for this. Are they going to take responsibility if anything happens to our SEALs and/or their families? I doubt it. There will be countless trumped up excuses but no one will take responsibility for flapping their yaps and endangering some real American heros.
When is someone going to start talking about how much the WH is leaking and how dangerous this is to our soldiers and to the nation’s security? Someone needs to tell them to shut the hell up. There’s way more information out there than anyone needs to know. And the information we do want – a picture – is “too dangerous to our troops to release.” How stupid is this?
All of this leaked information is a national security issue to be sure but it’s also a life and (God forbid) death issue for our SEALs.
For Obama, it’s a political stump speech issue. And that is the most disgusting, immoral thing about this whole episode.
Barry, please shut your pie hole. This is not going to win you another term, especially if something dreadful happens to our SEALs and our nation.
There Goes the Neighborhood
Maybe his presence brought down property values, maybe he got hit by the real estate bubble, or maybe he just overpaid. Whatever the case, London’s Guardian reports Osama bin Laden’s house isn’t worth as much as had been advertised:
After Sunday night’s dramatic raid by US Navy Seals, a senior Obama administration official told reporters that the property, an “extraordinarily unique compound” in an “affluent suburb,” was valued at around $1m.
But two property professionals in Abbottabad–a quiet, military-dominated town–said that much of that was incorrect. Based on the size of the plot and the house, which was built in 2005, and using recent property sales as a guide, they estimated that it would fetch no more than $250,000 on the current market.
Assuming bin Laden made the customary 20% down payment and took out a mortgage for $800,000 in 2005, he’s going to be underwater for a long time.
Please read his blog regarding the events that led up to the assault on bin Laden’s “mansion.” I think it’s going to be enlightening to some and will verify what others of us have already believed about this president and his regime.
I don’t believe that Obama would be out golfing and have to be pulled off the course, if he knew that this assault was taking place. I also know from reading Game Change that Obama doesn’t take a dump without notifying Valerie Jarrett first and that fits in well with the narrative on Leatherneck’s blog.
Now, for interesting aside, also via Leatherneck and the UK Mail is the sketchy story of the other woman in the situation room – Audrey Tomason. I think this lady was with the CIA and her cover has been blown or at least compromised by this administrations haste to get out a photo.
Michael Barrett, a national security expert and principal at strategy firm Diligent Innovations, suggests that the photograph outed a sensitive national security employee.
He said: ‘You can make a reasonable deduction that she’s a member of the intelligence community. Is that a story [the White House] wants to put out there in public? The fact that we can see her face could potentially jeopardize her career.’
“Brace yourselves, because the war with Muslims has just begun,” 31-year-old Faisal Shahzad told a federal judge. “Consider me the first droplet of the blood that will follow.”
