After the riots and looting we’ve seen in London of late, I find this pretty astounding. The story was featured on Cam & Company tonight.
There are going to be 125,000 school kids getting free tickets to go to the 2012 London Olympics but they will not be allowed to watch the shooting events. Not even shooting practice for you, kiddies.
Danny Bryan, founder of Communities Against Gun and Knife Crime said: “I agree with Boris [the mayor of London]. It is good kids should enjoy the Games but there’s no way we should glorify guns.”
So with that argument, are they glorifying the javelin, the shot or the discus? Any of those can be lethal weapons and all are Olympic events. For cryin’ out loud, you could beat someone over the head with a hurdle or a block, for that matter.
What do they think they are protecting these kids from? It’s okay to see Londoners break windows, steal flat screen tv’s and throw rocks at the unarmed police but not okay to watch people shoot at targets. And it goes without saying, but I’ll say it anyway – these kids have seen much worse on tv, in video games and in movies. They have seen much worse “glorifying guns” than they can ever absorb at an Olympic shooting event.
After the looting and riots we have just seen in London, how do these ‘do-gooders-doin’-stupid’ justify this – – seriously?
You know, I love the Brits but sometimes they say and do things that just make no sense.

Reading The American Spectator today, Norman Podhoertz in the Wall Street Journal and Nile Gardiner of the UK Telegraph, reminded me of Evan Thomas (grandson of that loser but perennial socialist presidential candidate, Norman Thomas) declaring to Chris “tingly leg” Matthews in 2009 that “Obama is sorta god.”
(As an aside, Chris really should have this tingly leg thing checked out. It could be neuropathy caused by undiagnosed diabetes or something and maybe shove himself away from those jelly doughnuts, just in case it is. A weekly workout in the MSNBC gym wouldn’t hurt him, either. His god-dess Michelle will be the first to tell him, and the rest of us, that obesity is the number 1 cause of diabetes.)
But I digress and that’s a whole other blog.
Those were the days, weren’t they? Obama on the cover of every “news” magazine in the grocery store checkout line with the celestial halo around him, head upturned and nose in the air; the frown of determination and decisiveness across his face.
Under the spell of the messiah on Rolling Stone
Yes, Evan, he really was above us – on a ledge of your making. And every journalist in the nation, nay world, was all too quick and willing to acquiesce to their new found god Obama. His was the soaring rhetoric that was going to heal the world:
In the American Spectator, George Neumayr relates that “Obama loomed even larger than Lincoln. He was a “Lightworker,” as San Francisco Chronicle columnist Mark Morford put it in 2008, “that rare kind of attuned being who has the ability to lead us not merely to new foreign policies or health care plans or whatnot, but who can actually help usher in a new way of being on the planet, of relating and connecting and engaging with this bizarre earthly experiment.” [A bizarre earthly experiment? Does anyone really talk like this? Maybe if you were in a 70’s consciousness raising group, or something…]
Now that the Lightworker has fallen to earth and the glorious new way of being on the planet turns out to be a lowered credit rating, some of his prominent supporters have fallen silent or resentful. Heady Lincoln comparisons have given way to Carter comparisons, sotto voce: “We are watching him turn into Jimmy Carter right before our eyes,” an anonymous Democratic Senator said to New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd.
Yep, well it’s a long, hard fall when you’re up “above the world” looking down. It’s an even harder fall when you start to believe all the mythology about yourself.
The new Emperial president.
There is a disturbing let them eat cake mentality projected by the Obama White House … No US presidency in modern times has been more elitist or out of touch than the present one, which exudes the kind of condescending left-wing snobbery that is normally the preserve of an ivory tower common room. President Obama looks increasingly aloof and out of sync with the American people, three quarters of whom now believe the country is heading down the wrong track – including a staggering 58 percent of Democrats, according to Rasmussen. Nile Gardiner/UK Telegraph
Norman Podhoretz says that his “own answer to the question, “What Happened to Obama?” is that nothing happened to him. He is still the same anti-American leftist he was before becoming our president, and it is this rather than inexperience or incompetence or weakness or stupidity that accounts for the richly deserved failure both at home and abroad of the policies stemming from that reprehensible cast of mind.”

According to CNBC, in just a year, Ohio has jumped from 29th place to 5th in their “most improved” state category:
Ohio is this year’s most improved state, jumping 11 places to 23rd overall, thanks to a huge improvement in cost of doing business. Ohio improved to fifth place in our most important category, from 29th place last year. A multiyear effort to reform the tax code in the Buckeye State is paying off with a tax structure that welcomes new investment. At the same time, wages have fallen in Ohio relative to other states. That helps businesses on the cost side, but workers suffer.
Ohio has a governor who is opening the state up to business opportunities and new investments and yet, worker’s wages have fallen? That makes no sense to me and I’d like to know where those stats come from. Business investment goes hand in hand with increased job opportunity and increased wages.
But Lord knows that a left wing organization like CNBC will never give credit to Governor Kasich for doing the hard and often unpopular things in Ohio.

Dennis Miller made an excellent point tonight on O’Reilly which Bill poo-pooed because it wasn’t his idea first. Let me say before I go on that I’m no Factor fan, I just like his guests and sometimes they’re able to get a complete thought expressed before Bill interrupts them. Frankly, Bill is annoying with his “looking out for the folks” meme all the time.
But I digress.
Congresswoman Michele Bachmann
The point Miller made was that if the LSM goes after Michele Bachmann in the same ruthless and cruel way they’ve gone after Sarah Palin, the media will have established an MO. That won’t look so good for them. Do these liberal journalists want to appear to be the misogynists that they really are or would they rather stay in the closet? Miller gave great kudos to Palin for laying the ground work for all women to come after her because she’s taken all the abuse and heat – there can’t be any left unless the leftist media want to appear in the ugliest of lights. They will look like women haters – even if the woman in question happens to be conservative.
Party affiliation won’t matter a lot to the American people if they see the media pillaging yet one more UNDESERVING female candidate.
The people that both parties will be fighting for will be the independents: the so-called moderate Americans. They are leaving the democrat party because it’s been hijacked by leftist extremists. It’s no longer the party of their parents. It’s now the party of Che and Mao. And I’m pretty sure those moderate American voters don’t want to be aligned with communists. I think as it is, it will be hard for the democrats to win them back, but it will be especially hard if they see unfair and unnecessary gender abuse from the media, sanctioned by the democrat party.

In the words of some late night host, this weiner story is like a gift that keeps on giving. It just gets better and better.
If you watched his press conference (the one where Breitbart was the opening act) he said he couldn’t say with “certitude” if any of the females he tweeted with were all adults. He had to take those people at their words, he said.
Delaware police have questioned a young (17 year old) lady regarding any online contacts she might have had with the great and honorable congressman.
I still can’t get over this — he’s so FUGLY!!!!
If you have time read more at The Other McCain and Ace of Spades HQ and following comments. They are all priceless!

This has gone from accusing Breitbart’s site for breaking the story to vilifying the young lady as a stripper – this according to CNN today.
This guy is so fugly! Why would any woman find him interesting, let alone sexy? But you know what they say about men with big noses . . .
And he tells NBC that he can’t confirm or deny that the picture is of – mmm – him, but tell me folks, don’t you know if you’ve ever put a picture of yourself like that online? He’s claiming that the photo might have been manipulated — but again, don’t you need a photo of a man in his jockeys to doctor to begin with? So he put up a picture of himself in his underpanties and now he’s claiming that it was photoshopped?
Photoshopped to show an impressive (to some, I guess) erection? LMAO
Oh geeeze! I’m starting with gutter stuff. Sorry but this story just begs for it.

I guess there’s no longer any question on where ComCast sits, politically. I thought that they were smarter than the company from which they purchased this losing network. WRONG! But on the plus side, I’m glad they aren’t. They will remain on the losing side of the American public.
Ladies and gentlemen, check out the new “lean forward” ads by MSNBC stars (read that sarcastically.) These are amazing. And I take offense to Rachel Madcow at Hoover Dam, talking about America’s greatness (Hoover Dam, that fabulous engineering feat) that could never be done without the government leading the way.
Let’s put that in perspective, okay? That dam was built in less than 5 years. 5 YEARS! Do you know how long that bridge took? When we lived in Nevada, the sign said:
“Highway construction next (whatever) miles. 2003-2007.”
then it said “2003-2008”
then they took down the final year, just painted over it.
It was finished this winter — 2010!
Nearly 8 years to finish a bridge and a highway. Admittedly, that bridge is something to behold. It’s almost as amazing as the Dam itself. But it’s still not THE HOOVER DAM! There was no excuse for it to take nearly twice as long as the entire damned Dam! And actually it was more than a decade when you figure in all the impact studies and bullshit that the EPA and OSHA and all the other government alphabet agencies require.
This Ms.Madcow, is what happens when the government leads!
But I digress – as usual.
Watch the “leaning forward left” ads. They are, if nothing else, amusing!
