The next time you’re in the mall or on the subway, stay alert. The Jerusalem Post is reporting that our intelligence and security agencies are concerned over the rising Al-Qaeda quest in Yemen for castor beans to make ricin. (I can direct them to the beach at Santa Barbara for castor plants – they grow wild all over the place along the beach there. Beautiful plants that produce deadly seeds.)
It said the apparent intent was to pack the poison around small explosives that could be exploded to disperse the ricin, a white powdery substance so deadly that a speck can kill if inhaled or taken into the bloodstream.
The [NY] Times said the apparent intent was to detonate the explosives in enclosed spaces like a shopping mall or airport.

The United States is still different [from European states]. In the wake of economic meltdown, the decadent youth of France rioted over the most modest of proposals to increase the retirement age. Elderly “students” in Britain attacked the heir to the throne’s car over footling attempts to constrain bloated, wasteful and pointless “university” costs. Everywhere from Iceland to Bulgaria angry mobs besieged their parliaments demanding the same thing: Why didn’t you the government do more for me? America was the only nation in the developed world where millions of people took to the streets to tell the state: I can do just fine if you control-freak statists would shove your non-stimulating stimulus, your jobless jobs bill and your multitrillion dollar porkathons and just stay the hell out of my life and my pocket.
That’s the America that has a fighting chance – a nation that stands for economic dynamism, not the stagnant “managed capitalism” of France, for the freest, widest, rudest bruiting of ideas, not Canadian-style government regulation of approved opinion: for self-relience and the Second Amendment, not the security state in which Britons are second only to North Koreans in the number of times they’re photographed by government cameras in the course of going about their daily business. But when you hit the expressway to Declinistan there are few exit ramps. That America’s animating principles should require a defense at all is a melancholy reflection on how far we’ve already gone. Live free – or die from a thousand soothing caresses of nanny-state sirens.
Like I said, if you want a happy ending, it’s up to you.
Your call, America.

"The WTC cross has become a Christian icon," said Dave Silverman, president of the atheist group. "It has been blessed by so-called holy men and presented as a reminder that their god, who couldn't be bothered to stop the Muslim terrorists or prevent 3,000 people from being killed in his name, cared only enough to bestow upon us some rubble that resembles a cross. It's a truly ridiculous assertion." from CNN. (Thanks to my friend in GA for sending to me!)

Seriously folks, you’re gonna love this. It’s so obvious that I don’t need to write any comments. This story speaks for itself –
OTTAWA — American academic and former militant radical Bill Ayers won’t be allowed to enter Canada, according to an association of university faculty who had asked him to speak at an upcoming conference.
Ayers was scheduled to speak at a conference on higher education and to the media in Toronto on June 16, but the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations said Wednesday Ayers won’t be allowed to enter Canada.
“Ontario’s university professors and academic librarians are appalled that Canada’s borders are becoming a barrier to the free exchange of ideas,” stated Mark Langer, president of the faculty association. “Bill Ayers is a respected academic, and in no way a threat to the peace and security of Canada. There is no reason why he should be kept out.”
Ayers gained notoriety in the 1960s and 70s as a founding member of the radical militant protest group Weather Underground. In 2009, Ayers was detained by the Canada Border Services Agency and denied entry into Canada.
“In the past, we have admitted Martha Stewart, a convicted felon. Just a few weeks ago, we also let in Geert Wilders, a far-right Dutch politician currently being prosecuted for violations of his country’s hate speech laws,” Langer said in a news statement Wednesday. “Based on this record, one wonders if Ayers is being kept out of Canada for purely political reasons, something that is unacceptable in a free and democratic society.”
A spokesman for Public Safety Minister Vic Toews wouldn’t confirm whether Ayers had been told to stay away, but did say it’s up to the individual traveler to make sure they comply with the law.
“The Canada Border Services Agency is operationally responsible for enforcing applicable Canadian law, including the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA),” wrote Chris McCluskey in an email. “It is up to the individual traveler to satisfy the CBSA officer that he or she is admissible to Canada under IRPA.”

Dennis Miller made an excellent point tonight on O’Reilly which Bill poo-pooed because it wasn’t his idea first. Let me say before I go on that I’m no Factor fan, I just like his guests and sometimes they’re able to get a complete thought expressed before Bill interrupts them. Frankly, Bill is annoying with his “looking out for the folks” meme all the time.
But I digress.
Congresswoman Michele Bachmann
The point Miller made was that if the LSM goes after Michele Bachmann in the same ruthless and cruel way they’ve gone after Sarah Palin, the media will have established an MO. That won’t look so good for them. Do these liberal journalists want to appear to be the misogynists that they really are or would they rather stay in the closet? Miller gave great kudos to Palin for laying the ground work for all women to come after her because she’s taken all the abuse and heat – there can’t be any left unless the leftist media want to appear in the ugliest of lights. They will look like women haters – even if the woman in question happens to be conservative.
Party affiliation won’t matter a lot to the American people if they see the media pillaging yet one more UNDESERVING female candidate.
The people that both parties will be fighting for will be the independents: the so-called moderate Americans. They are leaving the democrat party because it’s been hijacked by leftist extremists. It’s no longer the party of their parents. It’s now the party of Che and Mao. And I’m pretty sure those moderate American voters don’t want to be aligned with communists. I think as it is, it will be hard for the democrats to win them back, but it will be especially hard if they see unfair and unnecessary gender abuse from the media, sanctioned by the democrat party.

In the words of some late night host, this weiner story is like a gift that keeps on giving. It just gets better and better.
If you watched his press conference (the one where Breitbart was the opening act) he said he couldn’t say with “certitude” if any of the females he tweeted with were all adults. He had to take those people at their words, he said.
Delaware police have questioned a young (17 year old) lady regarding any online contacts she might have had with the great and honorable congressman.
I still can’t get over this — he’s so FUGLY!!!!
If you have time read more at The Other McCain and Ace of Spades HQ and following comments. They are all priceless!

I just have a couple of things I’d like to drop here:
High speed commuter rail: One word – Amtrak. And if it were so profitable, why isn’t Union Pacific building them?
Black supremacy groups: see Jill Scott (whoever the hell she is) or Common who are against inter-racial marriage. Pop quiz: What’s the difference between Black Americans who hold those opinions and the Aryan Nation? And don’t tell me it’s guns. One need only look at the Black on Black crime in this country to see that’s not true.
Racial bigotry: see Jill Scott and Common, again. Let a white entertainer say those same things and you’d be seeing the end of a career.
Joe Biden. ‘Nuff said.

“Brace yourselves, because the war with Muslims has just begun,” 31-year-old Faisal Shahzad told a federal judge. “Consider me the first droplet of the blood that will follow.”
"We can absorb a terrorist attack. We'll do everything we can to prevent it, but even a 9/11, even the biggest attack ever...we absorbed it and we are stronger."
