Gov’t funding means giving up your First Amendment Rights – in some realms

This is unbelievable to me. This widowed senior is now not allowed to have private discussions with her friends if they involve religion or spirituality of any kind, in a common area of her apartment complex. The reason? This complex receives funding from the government.

Isn’t this  interesting: “Ebenezer, which means “stone of help,” was founded in 1917 by Minneapolis Lutherans to provide community-centered care for homeless older adults and others in need.  Founded by Lutherans and the renters there can’t discuss the Bible or prayer because they receive funding from HUD.

It’s time for a new government. One that respects the Constitution and the rights of our citizens. Every where you turn these days its one more attack on religious freedom and Christianity, in particular.  Cheerleaders who had to fight for the right to make posters – with Biblical quotes – to cheer on their teams in Texas, is a current example. The judge has ruled that they do have that right, until next year anyway. I guess what the anti-religious group wants are posters that say things like “Hey Tigers – RIP those Bobcats to shred!” and other  violent stuff like that.

It was just a couple years ago that universities in Michigan were required to put in $25,000 foot baths for its Muslim students. Those schools are government funded entities. Why the double standard? I find it amazing that we make concessions for Muslims but are abusing Christians in this country – a nation based on a Judeo-Christian foundation.

Where was the Freedom from Religion group or whatever they’re called, back then?

They don’t want to fight with Muslims because they can be violent. Christians, on the other hand are fair game because they keep turning the other cheek.

    Great post Roxy.
The overbearing, onerous, manipulation of the rights of the People given to US in the Constitution concerning religion is consistent with the Obama administrations attempts to slowly slide Sharia Law into the courts of America.
An intelligent voter is the most powerful weapon We the People have.
We have seen what the lack of intelligence gave US in 2008.
Now, as a Country, we have to admit a mistake, for those of us that realize we made one.

  • Conservatives on Fire

Why are so many in government confused about our constitution? Our constitution protects of fredom OF religion not fredom FROM religion.

Absolutely Jim. Why they don’t get it is beyond me. Especially judges who are supposed to be “authorities” on the Constitution.

  • Freedom, by the way

Political correctness has gone off the rails of common sense. Only a small percentage of Americans understand what the upshot of these rulings really means for all of us. By bowing down to aethiests, muslims and twisting the constitution, freedoms for ALL of us are being snatched away. Every one of these judges, ACLU activitsts and outspoken PC aethiests will rue the day they tried to take away someone else’s freedom of religion, freedom of association, freedom of speech because the government will eventually take away theirs, as well.

Yes they will. You are absolutely right, Freedom. It’s so hard to believe that these people are so short sighted and stupid.
