It’s always amusing to watch liberals eat each other. And equally fair of them to boycott each other the way they boycott their enemy (conservatives.) Boycotting is counter productive but that’s a whole other topic.
Here’s a case in point: MJ Rosenberg is leaving Media Matters for America because he so selflessly believes he’s become a distraction to the mission of said organization. He’s a rabid Israel hater and coined the phrase “Israel firsters” for people who support Israel. That, I guess would include me.
(As a disclaimer, I’ve never read his stuff and have no plans to. But I’ve read enough excerpts to know that he would just piss me off if I did.)
MJ Rosenberg, who also got into hot water for mistakenly accusing the Drudge Report website of racism in coverage of the Trayvon Martin case, announced Friday on the Media Matters website that he was “striking out on my own with a brand new website and blog.”
[Rosenberg later had to apologize to Drudge for mixing up the Trayvon picture with one that was supposedly posted on Michelle Malkin’s site. I have a hard time believing that Malkin made that mistake, but stranger things have happened.]
So how selfless is that? His own blog and website. Ideological liberals don’t do anything that’s selfless. They con useful idiots on college campus’s to do that for them. Otherwise, they are just like you and me – in it for the money. I think that Rosenberg is having visions of his own Breitbart empire but he’s really not capable of pulling off what Andrew did.
However, this is what I like best:
Harvard Professor Alan Dershowitz has branded Rosenberg an anti-Semite for branding pro-Israel Americans with the name “Israel-firsters.” Dershowitz, a lifelong Democrat, has called on the Democratic Party to distance itself from Media Matters. Rosenberg responded to Dershowitz by telling him to “go to Hell” and urging Dershowitz’s students to boycott his class.
OH oh oh!!! the dreaded call to boycott! Rush Limbaugh, WalMart, Coke and Dershowitz. It’s what they know how to do. But it’s really rich and very humorous when they call to boycott EACH OTHER! Freedom of speech to these guys is only freedom to speak THEIR speech. Go off the reservation, speak your mind and they turn on you so fast it makes Juan Williams head spin. (Remember what happened to him at NPR.)
As liberals go, I like Dershowitz. He’s polite to conservatives, for one thing. Believe it or not, I’ve seen him on Fox and he behaved rather gentlemanly. I’ve even read a couple of his books and liked them. If I knew him personally, I bet we could be friends.
Not so with Rosenberg, a man who publicly calls out even his own kind with mean spirited words and nefarious actions.
