It’s all about perception, deception and illusion.
Obama has no bill and has given no bill to Congress to pass. But he will now travel the country and tout a bill that does not exist and berate the Republicans who haven’t passed the so far non-existent bill. He’s going to say “pass this bill” so many times that people will believe there is a bill. In fact, he said it 18 times last night and some people already think there’s a bill sitting at Capital Hill.
Tell a lie enough times and people begin to believe it.Make no mistake: There is no bill.
He’s setting up the Republicans to take the hit next fall when (and I don’t think IF) the economy is not improved. It will be their fault – not his.
In Rules for Radicals, Alinsky said that it’s not what you know, it’s what people think you know. Therefore, it’s not what Obama does (or not) but what he wants you to think he’s done or is doing.
