Now there’s proof positive that the circumcision ban in San Fransisco it anti-Semetic.
If the measure passes, circumcision would be prohibited among males under the age of 18. The practice would become a misdemeanor offense punishable by a fine of up to $1,000 or up to one year in jail. There would be no religious exemptions. (emphasis mine) YahooNews.com
For a city that has bragged on it’s tolerance and progressive ideology, this is nothing short of being anit-Semetic, as well as anti-Muslim and unConstitutional.
This is blatant anti-Semetism and to make it worse (or more obvious) take a look at the cartoon from Zombie at PajamasMedia.com. (H/t Ace of Spades, who also has a great blog about this, complete with a Beck radio clip.) This is appalling and amazing at the same time.
Who’s in charge of PR for this anti-circ drive?
To add insult to injury (if that’s possible) according to Zombie, the cartoonists name is Hess. Shades of Nazi Germany.
If that isn’t Jew hatred, I’m a Chinese astronaut.
And everyone seems to have forgotten that Muslims require circumcision at age 12.
Female genital cutting, a controversial practice that usually involves the removal of the clitoris, is illegal in the United States. A circumcision ban would simply extend the same protections to males, [Lloyd] Schofield [spearheading this ballot initiative] said.
Here, we are talking about 2 separate things. A circumcision does not prevent male pleasure during sex. It does not prevent a man from experiencing an orgasm. A clitorectomy all but eliminates that pleasure for a female. Therefore there’s no comparison between the 2 proceedures. One is mutilation, (not controversial) to any thinking person. The other is a CHOICE, usually by parents, or it’s a religious requirement. Which brings us back full circle to anti-Semetism and Constitutional rights.
This is going to be tied up in the courts for a long time and in the end, the whole thing will be a waste of time and lots of money. This is unConstitutional on several levels. Not to mention it’s Jew hatred at it’s most obvious.
Shame on all of the people who are supporting this.

I’m happy to add the perspective of a Jewish Intactivist. There is a growing number of Jews of all denominations who are refusing to circumcision and instead doing alternative rituals that honor our religion without harming children.

This is about a religious rite – that Muslims also practice – and an operation between a doctor and his patient or guardian’s child.
People like you support abortion on demand (the ultimate in mutilation)and another operation choice that should remain between a woman and her doctor.
You liberals need to get out of our bedrooms and our doctor’s offices, okay and mind your own business. If you oppose circumcisions, then by all means DON’T GET ONE!!!

My father had to have a circ done at age 80!!! Because he had an infection they could not resolve. AGE 80, for cryin’ out loud. It took him over 6 weeks to recover from that. It’s a fact: the older the man is, the longer and harder the recovery is going to be for one of these procedures.
So, yes Otis, there are not only hygienic reasons as well as sound medical ones for having circumcisions done.

First they go after the Jews then they go after the Christians! WE are trending toward the policies of Nazi Germany with deliberate speed. Progressives saw the election of Barack Obama as a green light and thought the people approved. They didn’t realize that most of the people were just lazy and didn’t know what the goal was. I hope we can change everything in 2012, but SF has always been on the edge and will take a revolt from within the city to change it back!

I am appalled and bewildered why somthing of this nature is under consideration by a local government. Esp. one that for years has set themselves up as the most liberal-minded city in America. I’m beginning to think SF does these things to keep their city in the headlines around the world.

This is about choice of people who have no choice, and in Australia we chose not to cut so our sons are born normal and can experience natural sensations of their own bodies.
PS its not about jews or muslims….they can chop all they want.
