Patriot Post Quote of the Day

I know that almost everyone who reads here (all 4 of you) already get this in your email every morning, but it’s worth posting to my blog anyway, in light of the current White House resident:

“[The President] is the dignified, but accountable magistrate of a free and great people. The tenure of his office, it is true, is not hereditary; nor is it for life: but still it is a tenure of the noblest kind: by being the man of the people, he is invested; by continuing to be the man of the people, his investiture will be voluntarily, and cheerfully, and honourably renewed.” –James Wilson, Lectures on Law, 1791

As I watched the video of Pres. Ronald Reagan addressing the nation in his Challenger tragedy speech from 25 years ago (hard to believe it’s been that long), I was struck by how vastly different he and the man-child are. In less than 5 minutes, Reagan genuinely comforted a grieving nation, while keeping partisanship “never let a crisis go to waste” audacities out.

Less than 5 minutes, one of the most eloquent, heartfelt, uplifting speeches following a tragedy in all our nation’s history. Reagan embodied James Wilson’s definition of a president. The empty suit in the Oval Office would have talked for an hour, plugged himself over and over again, and would have somehow blamed his predecessor for the tragedy. Credit, too, to Peggy Noonan who wrote most of the speech… but you know that The Great Communicator had a hand in its writing as well. The Whiny Blamer in Chief would have left most of America feeling worse.

Thanks for this quote, Roxy, and I hope all is going well with the new grandson! Love you, girlfriend!

So good to see you, doll. Things are good here and Alexander is getting bigger and noisier every day!

Whiner in Chief is the best description ever! I watched the SOTU and kept yelling “you lie!!!” over and over again. I’m so sick of his BS and his face, I could just scream and this coming year will be the worst yet!

We have to carry on and oust him and remake the senate! That’s our job.

El Presidente? At this point, Mubarak looks better. Can you imagine going on TV and letting the world know that you gave an 82 year old man dying of cancer a lecture on how to run his country that was at his door trying to break it down? Has he not learned that his lecture mode is deadly? We’ll, I’m off to bed since I have not had a great impact on world peace today. I’ve done all I can do. Wonderful quote.

I agree. The words dignified, accountable and noble really struck me as some of what’s missing in this regime.

That word ‘accountable’ stands out as the most important failure of this administration.
I think we are staring into the face of another Carter failure, unless things change quickly.
The internet did not exist when Carter was in office, we had to rely on TV and radio.
Even then, Carter could not win re-election.
Obama’s eloquence when speaking is exemplary, the content is empty, he has done nothing to back it up aside from failing miserably with the US economy.
The two sides were even then, they are not now.
If Obama’s regime is allowed to doctor the content of the internet as he wishes, that alone will be the reason to defeat him.

Some How Roxy I don’t think that quote is going to work out to well for Mr. Obama.

Obama would chuckle at the childish observations of an 18th century commentator.
Anybody with any functioning brain cells will be chuckling at Obama as he flails wildly and spends tons of bucks to make a last ditch effort to destroy our Country. He will log many many miles on Air Force 1 just to get his facetime on the MSM.
If we could only get him on camera while demanding answers as to why he is where he is, and who put him there, we would find out how inexperienced he is along with the fact that he is probably ineligible to be there in the first place.

I am the last person to attempt to embarrass anyone, however, I would be first in line to embarrass this president in front of America concerning the lies and the intentional destruction of the financial structure of this Republic.
His attempts at communicating through facebook, or whatever, are ridiculous.
      The man is a wimp.
He and his administration of socialist/Marxists have to go.
We’ve got a foothold in congress, next is the executive branch.
