from James Taranto/WSJ:
Yesterday we noted that President Obama, not as part of a deliberate strategy to counter the false impression that he’s a Muslim, talked at some length during one of his back-yard shindigs about his ostensible Christian faith. Among things, the president said that “the precepts of Jesus Christ spoke to me in terms of the kind of life that I would want to lead–being my brothers’ and sisters’ keeper, treating others as they would treat me.“
ahahahaha! Isn’t that funny. He misquotes the intent of the Biblical Golden Rule which says:
“Do to others as you would have them do to you.”
This is not about tit for tat, unless you’re theObama. For him, it’s all about HIM: how he’s treated by someone will determine how he treats others.
Reminds me of his other famous Chicago-style maxim: “If they bring a knife to the fight, you bring a gun.”
Or how about this very famous misquote:
These are all statements and misstatements that reflect the kind of man, in his heart of hearts, that he really is.

Isn’t the other part of his misquote: “I am not my brother’s keeper”? Let me know.
That brother’s keeper is what we are doing now and that is not the place of government.
