The religious double standard of liberals – that is, if they even had standards

Just for a moment imagine if this story wasn’t about Catholics but Muslims instead. Or imagine Catholics were as militant as Muslims and their pope issued a command to kill the maker of these videos – which I am not going to link to because I’m not going to aid in increasing his viewership. Imagine if the maker of these youtube videos had to go into hiding, like the girl who started the “Draw Muhammad day” on Facebook.

Recently, Jimmy Kimmel made fun of Christine O’Donnell’s commitment to Biblical teachings regarding lust, sex and marriage. O’Donnell is a Christian and believes in monogamy and fidelity to a spouse. She believes in abstinence.

Why is it okay with the liberals to attack and ridicule Christians but not Muslims? Why is it a cultural imperative to be tolerant of Islam but not Catholicism, Christianity or Judaism?  There is no threat from those groups, that’s why. They aren’t going to take to the streets or stalk and assassinate an offender. No one is going to be waiting in the shadows by Kimmel’s car with a knife to slit his throat and he knows it.

The story I linked to in the first paragraph is appalling, regardless of your religious or non-religious affiliation and if you go to the website, and if the spirit moves you, please sign the petition to get his horrible videos pulled from youtube.

Maybe Rove’s not such a bad guy, after all

In an odd, left handed way, and I don’t mean to insult leftys by calling them odd, maybe Rove has done O’Donnell a favor. Maybe he meant to do that, maybe he didn’t.

By bringing all her negatives to the front of the campaign, she has time to address them and dull the effects from the liberals when they start throwing arrows at her. Personally, I think that’s a good idea and a great strategy to win. Christine can step up and beat back all the attacks before they can do her a great deal of damage closer to the election day.

Of course, this is all theory on my part and maybe Rove was just telling his opinion and his truth as he knows it. But regardless, he’s done her a favor.

Quote of the day – Ben Stein

Fathom the odd hypocrisy that Obama wants every citizen to prove they are insured, but people don’t have to prove they are citizens.

Why Obama’s new strategy – class warfare – won’t work

The reason it won’t work is because we aren’t Europe, as much as Obama would like to make us like that.

Europe has a history of serdom and aristocracy.

Americans threw that off with the Revolutionary War. We are a nation where hard work, ambition and determination can and does result in dreams being accomplished.  An individual does not have to be born with a trust fund to secure a successful and happy life.  In America, all opportunities are available to us, if we are prepared to expend the energy and the personal responsibility to see it through.

We have never been a nation that resents success or punishes those who attain it. Americans have always celebrated and honored those who followed their dreams and accomplished them.

Europeans have risen from farming a lords land, with no personal property and no personal freedoms. Americans have never been peasants or serfs to any man or government.  And we aren’t about to start now.

Europeans have no contract with their governments, nothing that guarantees freedom. We do and it’s called the Constitution.

On this day celebrating the Constitution, let’s all remember we are and always have been a FREE people and we owe all those who came before us for that. It’s our charge today and every day, to make sure that freedom remains secure for our children and theirs.

ObamaCare circa 2012

Our future under ObamaCare

Stupid Harry sticks his foot in it again – Just love this guy!

Chris Coons is Harry’s pet and the blogosphere is abuzz with this new little gem out of Harry’s mouth.  But Harry’s been Obamas lapdog since day 1 of this American nightmare called the Obama administration, so he should know best about being someone’s beloved pet.

From The Atlantic Wire:

  • ‘Well This Is Odd’ writes Mary Katharine Ham at The Weekly Standard. “Is there any way he could have complimented his friend and sounded more off-putting and out of touch with the electorate? …In my head, Harry Reid is Dr. Evil, creepily patting the head of Mr. Bigglesworth, the next senator from the great state of Delaware.”
  • This is ‘Sheer Dr. Evil Goofiness’ chuckles Allahpundit at the blog Hot Air. Does Reid, “not understand that his endorsement doesn’t help, even in a blue state? His national favorable rating is 26/56; I can’t find numbers for Delaware, but if The One’s approval rating is now underwater there, surely the vastly less likable Reid is deep into negative territory. Why would any semi-coherent Democrat want to nationalize this race in a year when the Democrats’ national brand is pure poison for their candidates?”
  • ‘Creepy Harry Reid Hands O’Donnell Her First General Election Ad’ concludes Michelle Malkin on her blog. “And go ahead, Democrats. Keep gloating about how you’ve got Delaware in the bag.”
