Why do these people all believe that the Tea Party is strictly an anti-Obama movement? When even Fox doesn’t get it, we have a message problem.
I’m no Tea Party expert and I’ve been on the fringes of the movement – attending a few events and not joining or volunteering for any one close to home – but from what I have seen and read, the party has multiple issues and grievances with many politicians in both parties. The biggest issue is a return to the Constitution and rule of law. If Obama is guilty of not upholding his oath, then yes, he’s one of the party’s problems. There are dozens of republicans and democrats in office who have not stood by their oaths, as well.
Read the Contract From America and while you’re there, sign it. It spells out, in 10 points, very clearly what the Partiers want to see addressed and made right again.
There’s no denying that Obama is a big issue for them (us). He is unquestionably the most left president we have ever had. Yes, we had 8 years of Bush and too much spending and yes, it should not have happened and our Republican congress is heavily to blame for it. But we have been pushed to the left so far and so fast – and Obama has done this – that we are awake and not going to stand for it.
We need to reframe the message and make sure that it’s not all Obama, all the time. The left is writing the narrative and just like the Constitution, we need to take the story back!

I feel ya girlfriend. Sick to death of the labels myself—wished we could ALL just be pissed off Americans….no color no race no sex (well maybe sex–lol) The media and activist THRIVE on our discontent….sicko’s….
Of course, we do need to define a few ‘labels’ to make things more clear—but seems even the dictionary is not right on them…hahahaa

You added some great points. I’m just so tired of being labeled and like someone said tonight (on tv) this is all getting old and boring. The names (racist, bigot, homophobe) have all lost their impact.
They can call me whatever they want to, it doesn’t hurt or matter to me. I know my mission and my heart. And I’ll be showing both in the voting booth in November… you stupid suckers!

Excellent, concise summary, Roxy. Liberals love to say, “When Bush was in office, no one complained.” HUH? And these people honestly believe that — despite the beating up in the media Bush was put through for 8 years. How many Americans spoke out against TARP? How many against Iraq? If Bush had such a low approval rating (and trust that it has not ever been as low as Obama’s is becoming), it was not all liberals who were dissenting — a huge number of conservatives and moderates were as well.
Simplistic hogwash sound bites by the media, on both sides of the political fence. Fiscal responsibility, free market principles, adherence to the Constitution, smaller government and listening to the majority of constituents… what’s so difficult for O’Reilly to understand about tea parties?
Obama tipped over the apple cart with his “socialism on steroids” approach — along with Pelosi, Reid, and other power-hungry statist Dem politicians — but RINO GOP politicians, including “Mr. Maverick” himself John McCain, had a guilty hand in also tipping it over.
