Quote of the day – Ronald Reagan

“Welfare is another of our major problems. We are a humane and generous people and we accept without reservation our obligation to help the aged, disabled, and those unfortunates who, through no fault of their own, must depend on their fellow man. But we are not going to perpetuate poverty by substituting a permanent dole for a paycheck. There is no humanity or charity in destroying self-reliance, dignity, and self-respect … the very substance of moral fiber.” Ronald Reagan

Toll free #s to the capitol. Tell the operator which office you want to speak. Just heard this on Rush and I thought it would be appropriate to share this where you have a quote by Reagan.

I am paraphrasing here, but Benjamin Franklin stated that ‘the best way to eliminate poverty is to make it as uncomfortable as possible.’

    I agree.
Even today in a depressed economy in this country, there are more opportunities to advance your situation than in almost any other country on earth.
    It’s called FREEDOM !
(soon to be revised by the Obama administration.)

Where are the Ben Franklin’s now? We could sure use another brilliant man (or woman) like him now! Or another Reagan.

        We exist all around you.
        Conservatism is on the rise.
Patriotism is alive and well, and existing within America.
        We The People will prevail.

    Classic Reagan.
Look how far we have fallen into the mire.
