When will Obama man-up?

He has made it clear that we are no longer a super power, we are no longer an exceptional nation and the world is listening and taking stock in his words.

He’ll fall back on the whine “I inherited this mess” and we will all keep wondering when this will become HIS administration and HIS economy.  When will he man-up and take responsibility?

We know he’s going to blame this on Bush… Replacing the dollar, internationally.

Conservatives are the left’s scapegoat

The president, the self proclaimed “citizen of the world,” dropped into Denmark for 5 hours, made an I-me-mine speech, then jetsetted out and the left is blaming Bush and conservatives for an Olympic-sized loss?

This is called projection.

I didn’t care if Chicago won this thing or not, although news reports were that many Chicagoans were against it.

But once again, TheOne was told NO by the world and the left can’t accept that it could be his own fault. It couldn’t be that TheOne took for granted that he could just drop in and give a glittering speech and win on his charisma and teleprompter-eloquence. The world is watching him and the world leaders are finding him to be naive and inexperienced – exactly what the right said about him last year during the campaign. So far, he’s not shown that he can step up to the plate and dispell any of those reservations. In fact, his indecision on Afghanistan and his lack of substance on his own healthcare reforms only reinforce those opinions of him. And reports are that his world apology tour didn’t endear him to our allies (think Sarkosy here.)

So TheOne and his staff (Valerie) miscalculated and messed up in Denmark and somehow that translates that conservatives caused this embarrassing Olympic slap down.  We need to get used to this. The left won’t take any responsibility if anything goes south for this president. For the next 3 years, every failure or faultering by this president will be OUR fault.

Do liberals want to address this?

Obama’s Copenhagen trip wasn’t cheap

(AP) – 2 days ago

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama’s failed bid to bring the 2016 Olympic Games to Chicago cost more than a bruised ego.

Taxpayers shelled out probably $1 million or more for the president, his wife and others to fly to Copenhagen and back to woo members of the International Olympic Committee.

A 2006 congressional study pegged the cost of flying Air Force One at $56,518 an hour. The Pentagon recently said it cost $100,219 an hour to fly the huge, reconfigured Boeing 747 without Obama aboard. The Pentagon estimate included more costs for support needs, such as maintenance.

At those rates, the president’s 14-hour trip to Copenhagen and back cost about $790,000 to $1.4 million.

However, presidential travel requires additional spending, especially for security personnel and equipment. Also, first lady Michelle Obama and some administration officials traveled to Copenhagen at public expense ahead of the president.

The Copenhagen trip was not devoted entirely to the Olympics bid. Obama spent 25 minutes conferring with Army Gen. Stanley McChrystal, his top Afghan war commander. McChrystal had been in London for a speech, and he made the relatively short trip to Denmark to meet with Obama.

Dissing the Dalai Lama? That’s kinda like spitting in Mother Theresa’s face.

Tibet: Now Obama loses the Richard Gere vote

by Roger L. Simon/PajamasMedia.com

Has there been a worse president in our lifetime than Barack Obama? Well, that depends on your longevity. But no one I know has lived as long as Andrew Johnson.

Even his enablers-in-chief at the New York Times are getting nervous (Frank Rich?!). Their editors are concerned with the lack of promised transparency. Hint to the editors: Don’t worry about transparency. There’s nothing (of substance) to see. Here’s a short list (I’m missing plenty):

The healthcare plan is an ever-shifting pile of papers from the secretarial pool. Was there ever really a plan? Everything is being done in such a rush it makes the Mad Hatter seem like a slow poke.

The stimulus plan is mostly unspent and what is spent has gone for the most part to cronies. (Sen. Thune says we should use the unspent 330 billion to pay down the debt and he’s probably right.) Moreover, it’s not working and the president seems to have no idea what to do.

Afghanistan — supposedly Obama’s war — is a mess with the president apparently furious at his own general for being honest.

The Olympic fiasco — I won’t even go there.

Democracy movements in Iran and Honduras are dissed in favor of cozying up to dictators. (This is the most disgusting and reactionary to me.)

Israel given the back of the hand.

ACORN, Chicago, etc., etc.

And now (ht: Fred Siesel) even the Dalai Lama gets left out in the cold!

In an attempt to gain favor with China, the United States pressured Tibetan representatives to postpone a meeting between the Dalai Lama and President Obama until after Obama’s summit with his Chinese counterpart, Hu Jintao, scheduled for next month, according to diplomats, government officials and other sources familiar with the talks.

For the first time since 1991, the Tibetan spiritual leader will visit Washington this week and not meet with the president. Since 1991, he has been here 10 times. Most times the meetings have been “drop-in” visits at the White House. The last time he was here, in 2007, however, George W. Bush became the first sitting president to meet with him publicly, at a ceremony at the Capitol in which he awarded the Dalai Lama the Congressional Gold Medal, Congress’s highest civilian award.

Well, that’s it for now. [Are you really sure he’s lost the Richard Gere vote?-ed. No, some toadies will always be toadies.]

How many friends do you have with mug shots? Bet Obama has you beat!

Jeff Jones: Just another of Obamas friends with a mug shot.

Jeff Jones: Just another of Obama's friends with a mug shot.

Jeff Jones is the author of Obama’s healthcare reform. Anyone who’s watched Glenn Beck has seen his mug shot and knows about this man and his Weather Underground/SDS history. Patti Villacorta at PajamasMedia has an interesting article about him today.

These are the last couple paragraphs from it:

Thai Jones, the son of Jeff Jones and Eleanor Stein, wrote about his life as the son of revolutionaries in a 2004 memoir. He writes of a father who can’t seem to let the movement go. When the Weathermen regrouped in the early 70s, changing its name from the Weather Underground to the Weather Underground Organization (WUO), Jeff Jones led the way by penning an underground manifesto:

Jeff had become an adult while he was underground. Fighting the war had been his primary purpose. With it over, he could have claimed victory and abandoned militancy. He might have surfaced, held a press conference, copped a plea bargain and gone on to pursue politics in the evenings like the rest of the movement people. But neither he nor the others considered it. They had gone too far down the path to turn around and come home. In fact, they would become more fanatical, study Marxist-Leninist theory, and talk more seriously than ever before about toppling the government, though the chances of succeeding were now slightly higher than they had been at any other time since 1968.

By 2006, Jeff Jones, Bernadine Dohrn, and William Ayers had authored a book: Sing a Battle Song: The Revolutionary Poetry, Statements, and Communiqués of the Weather Underground, 1970-1974.

Blogger calls fellow Americans hideous and atrocious

An FYI from my About page: I’m not interested in arguing because it will be a rare event that my mind will be changed and it’s even more rare that I will change yours.

The following post reply by Mr. Degan was in response to my Mark Levin blog but rather than have it buried there where it might not be read or noticed, I’m making it a blog of it’s own so that everyone who reads here won’t miss his opinions. Since he took the time to read and post at a conservative blog when he is obviously not conservative, I want to make sure that his views get the attention they deserve.

For myself, I don’t read liberal blogs. I get all the liberal views I need from MSM. But I want to thank Mr. Degan for his reply:

The right wing is positively giddy that the United States will not be hosting the Olympics. Seriously, has it dawned on you yet how utterly despicable these people are? I was just wonderin’.

The main goal of the GOP these days is to insure that President Obama’s administration is a complete and utter failure. They want to see as many Americans as possible suffer in the next three years, thus, ensuring that they will be able to seize control of the executive branch in 2013. If the president succeeds in making life better for his countrymen and women, they fail. It’s as simple as that. Mitch McConnell, to his credit, always looks quite uncomfortable when he is forced to justify policies as atrocious as those being put forward these days by that hideous party. But Cantor always has a serene, angelic smile on his face whenever he is forced to defend the morally indefensible – sort of like last week, at a Town Hall meeting when he told a woman whose mortally ill relative had been left bankrupt by her medical bills that she should rely on charity. He seemed so content with himself. Quite strange really.
