O Lord, Save us from the Occupiers and other Malcontents

It’s the last 2 days of 2011 and Obama needs your last $3.

I’m not going to whine, but we spent considerably less this Christmas than in previous ones. Even our dinner was “lacking.” We are doing what we can, where we can to cut back on spending and try to save a little money.

And we are no different than millions of other Americans.

So when I read this kind of crap – it really does piss me off!

On a $4M Vacation, Michelle Obama Asks for $3 From Backers

by Keith Koffler –

Speaking from her paradisical $4 million Hawaii vacation, Mrs. Obama wants to know: Do any of President Obama’s supporters have $3 to spare for his reelection?

This is approximately like coming upon Warren Buffett on a street corner with a McDonald’s cup asking if he can have 15 cents.

Michelle’s request was part of an email sent to the Obama 2012 list today.

Over the next 11 months we’ve got an organization to grow, voters to register, and people to get fired up.

I hope you’ll close out this year by donating $3 or more now to help make sure we’re ready for the next one . . .

Thank you so much, and happy new year,

Michelle

The obscene juxtaposition of the first lady on a $4 million vacation while asking what would have to be middle to low income earners for three bucks – who else would they be targeting with such an appeal? – is yet another example of lack of perspective the Obamas seem to be gaining while in power.

Mrs. Obama takes extravagant vacations to Spain and southern Africa. The president golfs obsessively and is currently dining at Honolulu’s ritziest restaurants. All while asking their fellow Americans to “sacrifice” during this time of not plenty.

And they blow $4 million – mostly taxpayers’ money – on a vacation, while wondering if the small people can come up with $3.

What about renting a beach house next year at the Jersey shore? I mean, if we’re all going to sacrifice.

This from the First Lady who can’t even travel on the same plane with her husband!

Is this a depression?

I’m in a serious bloggers funk and have been for the last month or 2.

Boy howdy, I don’t know how to move out of it, either.

Subsidizing the so-called rich to purchase green cars

We hear daily that the “rich aren’t paying their fair share” so what are we doing? Paying them to purchase a $45,000 Chevy Volt. Seriously, the only people who can afford to buy this car are the rich. And more power to them – everyone should be able to buy what they want to buy with their own money, but for us to be subsidizing this (with our tax dollars) is inherently wrong.

Obama: I’m the 4th best president in history

Statutory Rape and the Plan B abortion pill

Astoundingly, it’s been ignored or completely missed by the MSM that the Plan B abortion pill could be sold to minor girls: minor girls who cannot legally engage in (or consent to) sexual intercourse.

Sex with a minor child (male or female) is statutory rape in all states, even though the age varies by state. It’s a crime that requires the adult (when convicted) to become a registered sex offender for life. Children under a certain age (and that depends on the state but those ages range from 15, 16 or 17) are not capable to consent. They cannot legally consent to sexual intercourse and that cannot be used as a defense by the perpetrator.

Studies have shown that menstruation occurs earlier in girls who have no father in the home. This means that girls as young as 10 or 11 (12 is the current average) could be using this abortion pill -  either purchasing it herself or her male partner (presumably an adult) purchasing it for her.

So let’s get this right: It’s a crime to have sex with a minor child but not a crime to purchase a drug that will prevent her (if the child is a female)  from getting pregnant, after the crime. Child sex crime is now going to be easier and likely more common, when the fear of pregnancy is abolished.

And parental consent or notification, for the purchase of this pill,  is NOT a requirement.

Do you think the Iranians are done laughing at us?

Could we be any stupider? According to the Washington Times, there is a guest at the White House who was with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard during the attack in 1996, on our servicemen who were living in the Khobar Towers. We lost 19 servicemen and many, many more were wounded.

Hadi Farhan al-Amiri, the guest in question,  is now the transportation minister for the Iraqi government. He had, at the time of the Khobar attack, ties to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. They were responsible for the bombing and murder of our airmen.

And now he’s been invited inside the White House.

This on the heels of capturing, by whatever means, our spy drone and displaying it for the world to see; laughing at us for a president who asks them to return it to us. Our president who has circled the globe apologizing for us, is now begging for a return of this spy plane and entertaining an alleged killer of our servicemen.

I hope our military is aware of this and does not forget.

Democrat lawmaker blasts Obama

By Rep. Dennis Cardoza (D) CA

After observing President Obama for the last three years, it has become obvious to me that the president might prefer to be a university professor rather than do the job he holds today. While he might not realize that he feels this way, the evidence is very clear to those who work with or watch him closely.

Let me be clear — I’m not trying to disparage professors. But anyone who wonders why the president is not crushing the weak Republican field only needs to examine how President Obama has behaved more like Professor Obama:

‘IDEA DISEASE’
In the president’s first year in office, his administration suffered from what I call “idea disease.” Every week, and sometimes almost every day, the administration rolled out a new program for the country. There was no obvious prioritization and, after the rollout, very little effort to actually pass the latest idea/imperative/plan/edict. Instead, the new programs just kept coming, with the new proposals constantly stepping on the previous day’s message. This rampant “idea disease” squandered the tremendous goodwill generated by the Obama campaign’s message of “hope,” tainting the president’s personal appeal. As Democrats in Congress, we often felt like we were drinking water out of a fire hose, trying to simultaneously deal with past failures of the Bush administration and the avalanche of new initiatives from Obama. This lack of focus also made it easy for congressional Republicans to stall and foil many of President Obama’s best initiatives — which they did with relish!

‘I’M RIGHT, YOU’RE WRONG’

Early in his administration, President/Professor Obama repeatedly referred to “teaching moments.” He would admonish staff, members of Congress and the public, in speeches and in private, about what they could learn from him. Rather than the ideological or corrupt “I’m above the law” attitudes of some past administrations, President Obama projected an arrogant “I’m right, you’re wrong” demeanor that alienated many potential allies. Furthermore, the president concentrated power within the White House, leaving Cabinet members with no other option but to dutifully carry out policies with which they had limited input in crafting and might very well disagree. From my experience, this was especially true in the environmental, resources, housing and employment areas. Not by coincidence, these areas have also been responsible for much of the president’s harshest critiques.

LECTURES vs. LISTENING

One former administration official told me directly that the people in the White House “NEVER TALK TO REAL PEOPLE.” Another former Obama staffer confided to me that it was clear to him that the president didn’t mind giving speeches (lectures), but really avoided personal contact with members of Congress and folks outside the Beltway. “He doesn’t seem to derive energy from spending time with regular people the way Clinton did. He rallies to give speeches for the big crowds, but avoids individual contact,” the former staffer recalled. This “arms-length” attitude extends to top decision-makers in the president’s administration. A senior housing official recently told me that, despite the fact that he was responsible for crafting policies to stem the foreclosure crisis, he had personally never met with a homeowner who had been foreclosed on.
The president’s disinterest in input from those outside his inner circle is costing him many wasted opportunities. Recently, a senator told me Obama went to his/her state, but issued an invitation for the senator to attend the event only the day before. “I represent a must-win state and lead the president in approval ratings by nearly 20 points. He was totally off-message for what my people wanted to hear. Doesn’t the White House get it? I don’t need him, he needs ME!”

Many on the Democratic side wish Hillary Clinton, Gov. Jerry Brown (Calif.), Gov. Martin O’Malley (Md.) or Gov. Andrew Cuomo (N.Y.) were running instead, but the president still has time to learn a thing or two from these skilled politicians. I’ll still take Professor Obama over the “goat rodeo clowns” the Republican field offers, but I fear the overall student body — American voters — will give him a failing grade next November if he doesn’t improve his performance

The Inspiring Tim Tebow

What’s more personal to the individual than his faith? A belief in a higher order is what guides our daily lives and in ways that we don’t even think about.  It’s the basis for freedom of speech in this country.

How many athletes walk off the field and tell the ESPN guy, with a mic, that they thank God for the game they just played? You see it all the time, if you watch sports. So why is it that when Tim Tebow gives honor to God, it’s a controversy? The press is making a huge deal out of a young man who not only talks the talk but walks it, too. Maybe it’s just hard for the skeptical press to understand.

Tebow has inspired his team with his faith. They win because he believes they can win. And the fans are rallying behind them, despite the mocking and ridicule of other players and the press, in general.

Most Americans respect men and women of principle and faith.  Tebow has shown his principles, inspired his team and gathered Bronco fans behind them.

You go, Tim!
